Actually, you're completely right in light of the OP's question. I tend to forget GB because most of what I do on the phone is meant for incorporation into other apps on the iPad later and I don't like the idea of being trapped in GB.

But for simply "making music fast on the iPhone", I can't think of any two apps better than Gadget and GarageBand.

  • BM2, Gadget, TNRs (with templates for TJ, Gadget, Squaresynth, and Soundcanvas pre- made this is fastest of the three to get up and running)

  • Gadget on iPhone

    (And Gadget on iPad)

    Nothing is faster for me.

But if not that, on the iPhone combinations of:

    TNRe
    Infinite Looper
    or Xynthersiser
    to drive things.

Into things like Animoog or Gadget. With things like Elastic Drums or iElectribe or Ruismaker.

    Into AUM

    And into MTDaw to mix.

  • What is TNR?

  • Guys would this workflow work on iPhone?

    1. Do backing tracks in gadget
    2. Record gadget output in AUM
    3. RECORD vocals or acoustic instruments in AUM while gadget plays back
    4. Mix own all tracks in AUM into Blocs Wave or GarageBand

    Remember iPhone only...any recommendations?
    Thanks

Sure. Probably easier to use MTDaw though since you can see the recordings on the timeline. Or BM2.

The Tenori-on iOS apps, TNRi and TNRe.

It's nuts that we can have Beatmaker 2 powers (that sampler, audio tracks, access to all the universal IAA and AB instruments etc etc) on a PHONE...I trip on it still.
