Having tried it as AU within GB (on my iphone), it seems like all you can do in that mode is load presets and warp them with the trackball and/or the 'scene sequencer' thingy. No access in the AU UI to the parameters for individual operators etc.
you might consider Patch Base with an IAP for your favourite hardware synths
you can check the free download, which does full communication, but has a few (not too many) dials disabled - works great with my TX-7
the tip-hold-wipe with the numbered circles takes a bit to get used to, but works quite well
it's not a beauty, but functional - and does realtime
cheers, Tom
Everything is present when using the AU in Cubasis on iPad Air 2.
Just need to press the edit button or effect, scene etc...
Thanks Tom, yes I've downloaded it but not bought the full IAP yet, might wait for a sale or just get it anyway. Seems to be the best choice on iOS though.
better check if the TX802 is fully supported, it'a complex beast
(I surrendered and sold mine... a pity for the sound, but it was just too much...)
the predecessor of PatchBase made my Casio CZ1000 (worn out buttons) usable again
the price is premium, but so is this sysex stuff... (tried several Lemur patches, which turned out to be a pita)
a TX802 via Multichannel into an iPad and then processed on several AB channels is something to have...
congrats, Tom
It is supported. Although I'll probably make do with a pc based librarian for now. Yeah the multichannel output sold it to me. Plus after hearing demos compared to the soft synth FMs the hardware sounded substantially better to my ears.
I'm planning on making a midi out mod from the volca FM to control the TX802, which if it's like the other volcas should be possible.. Although I've not seen anyone online mod this one yet.
@Samu is the drum looper in the AU as well, because I can't see it. There is limited access to presets in the AU run in Cubasis as well.
US store only at the moment. bah!
I got it on the UK store yesterday.
You're right, just grabbed it. Installed direct from iPad, didn't come up in iTunes desktop app though for some reason.
That ARP is pretty bonkers
Nope, but if the drum-loops are needed it's fairly easy to extract all the *.wav files from the app-package
Just to let everyone know the 'old' MX49/61' workstations do not unlock FM Essentials
The new V2 is needed and those are not available anywhere for now...
As of writing there is also no V2 firmware update for the old MX49/61 that will allow class-complaiant audio and midi, meaning the MX49/61 V2 could be used as Audio & Midi-Interface with the iPad
I'm liking the sound of that mx61 keyboard! :-)
