Auria Pro has a tempo and time signature tracks so this can already be done.

not to mention the app we love to hate does this too, but goes one further in that it allows you to have separate mixer and automation settings for each individual sequence!

  • Hey @johnfromberkeley hi, sunvox makes a good beat twirl replacement, in fact it's better just no as visual.

    Which one is that?

  • ... will let me install a different separate sample file for each pitch to be at least 1 per 88 piano keys if not more, to be used all at once as a single instrument/setting on a sample player?

If there already is please point me at it cos me = there thank you. :)

I'm working on developing a midi controller app / split screen - that is also controllable by hardware, and hopefully web-midi as well.

Have you tried the Cubasis Mini Sampler? You can assign a sample to each note on the keyboard and you could achieve a layered instrument by creating multiple instruments and send them the same MIDI messages.

In Sunvox you can assign samples to notes in the sampler module and create several sampler modules with different samples and the modules could then be sent the same MIDI source to create a layered sample instrument. You can save the setup as a project to be recalled later much like a preset in a traditional synth.

@InfoCheck Sun Vox has been too hard for me to get my head around,, but I will totally check out Cubasis Mini Sampler, thank you! :)

Hi @kobamoto, if I import a drum loop into SunVox and place it in a sampler, by interpolating the start point to the end point it divides the loop into 32 equal slices.. I can then play the drum loop on any key (pitched up or down) whilst the tempo remains the same.. If you'd like to investigate this further, there are videos at the SunVox site demonstrating and I have also made a video myself about how to do "drum and bass" beats using dm1 and SunVox, under Runcell on you tube.

  • Why isn't there an app that replaces AudioCopy SDK in all apps with standard iOS features such as 'Open In...', 'Share Sheet' and 'iCloudDrive/DocumentPicker'???

I'm getting really worried about the development of AudioCopy and I hope we will not see wider adoption of it.
The last thing I wan't to see is spam to buy loops and sounds....

Agreed. There are many things about AudioCopy that are frustrating. But loading samples into Gadget using AC is a particularly grueling experience.

  • something like Native Instruments Kontakt
and another that is a pitch automation effect

  • an app that's a fun combination of an advanced sampler/synth, something you could throw any audio into to create your own instrument timbres, then tweak the hell out of them, then play them live and record on a clever touch screen playing surface with scale lock and maybe figure/kaoss style. Then let's say, perhaps said app could run up to 16 or so of these sounds at a time, live, with automation touch recording, and then on top of that an ableton live style clip launcher with a way to then sequence the clips, and also a powerful fx unit for each of the 16 sounds at any one time, which can also have automation recorded. And you can have 16 different sounds per clip or scene and of course swap them out freely, live and also record that swapping which could then be "bounced" down into its own clip/scene. You can freeze, unfreeze any sound with its associated effects and automation at any time and all this is kept organized by having multiple pages/tabs within the app which you can of course move quickly between. One for your sound design with the synth, the playing surface, the arrange page, fx/automation. And there's no skeumorphic bullshit, no beautifully rendered analog knobs, no textured wooden panels or shadows, and no goddamned piano keys or piano roll. This is app is for jamming out, playing stuff in live, you can of course copy/paste parts between sounds but the midi is under the hood only, with optional export. It's a pot to pour all your sounds into from elsewhere. IAP sound packs for the casuals. Ships with decent presets. If you can't make a good song with this app, it's you not the app. Also it's universal and $4.99. Ok I'm kidding about that last part. iPad only, probably top tier pricing, but it doesn't matter cause it kicks everyone's ass.

    Best practice:

    Studio 80%

    Live 60%

    ...and/or a decent compressor/limiter at a low setting

    Jam Maestro does this.

  • I'd like an app that allowed me to score to video. Nothing too fancy— just a movie window and a simple sequencer. It would need add markers and notes to the timeline, be able to scrub and/or go frame by frame while editing, and somehow export the results so they could be loaded into a more full featured editor later on.

Yes, yes. Very useful. Must be at least apparently simple. Please go ahead and make this. Ideally in the next month, maybe two.
