@MusicInclusive do you recall improvements from 9.1 to 9.3 on 64bit ipad air1?
I have ios 9.1 JB and wondering if audio performance is much better ,but don't want to give up the goodies of a JB device.

Apple worked with Moog to do some improvements to the audio engine in 9.3
As a result model 15 runs extremely smoothly in 9.3 but crackles and pops on 9.2 and below.
Had a JB air2 myself. But I got fed up of the unstable model 15 and upgraded. Never looked back after that :)

I do not own an Air 1.

I went directly from 7.1.2 to 9.3 on my mini 2.

I did not bother with any 8 or any earlier 9.

Only when I was convinced that 9.3 had brought the necessary audio performance fixes and improvements to 9 did I move from 7.1.2.

All 8 and all earlier 9 have audio performance issues that are fixed by 9.3 to bring the audio performance back to or better than the 7.1.2 days. (For 64-bit devices).

  • Does the ipad3 work faster than the iPad 2 with 9.3.3? I seem to remember reading there wasn't a massive performance difference between the two on older versions, maybe 9.3.3 is giving the iPad 3 a boost

The Ipad3 is actually slower than the 2.

    Ah. Getting complicated now look.

it does have more ram though.... but its slower. and the reason is the retina display. processorwise its not a lot faster than the Ipad2. but the retina display is a much higher resolution. so the 3 slows down due to higher gfx usage.
