Hubba hubba.
can't wait to see what the randomizers do to the samples
I love it! Wow!
Well hello there... samples and those sexy automation fx?
Um... (Wipes drool away from mouth) coooooool!
This sounds like is going to be superb
(bites fist) ..... Grrrrr!

Oh my gawd. I need this nao
Hmmmm, just sounded like a horrid noise to me. Must be getting old.
i think everybody is excited about the feature, not the composition.
Swallows hard.
In a way that reminds him of when he held back tears.
In a way that a mere sip of water is beyond ingestion.
Please take me.
If you’re all trying to do haiku you’re all pretty crap at it.
This app is really awesome...
I can't figure out why I don't like it more. Maybe the extreme digital sound? Or the flow of the interface? I'll keep trying, it definitely has plenty of good.
Maybe I'm more of a drum sample guy. I keep trying to be a drum synthesis guy cause I'd prefer that. More discoveries ahead.
I agree with this/feel similarly. But also guess I'm one piece/performance away from changing my mind...
@redo1 @JohnnyGoodyear , really nice live effects, full midi learn, okay it's true it sounds very particular...But with this feature, it seems possible to create/import some kits from other mythic drum stations (808, 909, Linndrum...)...
It's not AUX just, argh, but it's also CPU consuming so not sure it's the best idea at the moment, but running two instance at least should be really great ...
But as you can change by midi your presets quite fast (hopefully soon it will be possible thru program change) it stills manageable...
Not much of a fan of Elastic here either. Deleted it a couple of days ago to make more room on my iPad. It is alright for some things but I have too many great drum apps already and this one never got used any longer.
Me too. On paper I should absolutely love this app and I was counting down the days to it's release, but it's never worked as good as I hoped, and each update seems to move things around so I can't find them, without fixing the performance issues it suffers from.
I don't think I'd ever delete it, hell I'd probably even buy it again, but our relationship is yet to be consummated.
Feel the same. I appreciate its power - but the synth drums don't tickle my fancy. The new sample import feature could be a game changer though - the jam page is super fun so look forward to trying some imported drums on that!
Yeah, I think a big plus for this app is that the developers are still pushing the boundaries and adding new features.
Elastic Drums was it until Patterning came along
I've loved Patterning since day 1, it's been my 'go to' drum app, even before the amazing MIDI update. I'm a big fan of synth drums though, so I'm still hopeful that ED will come up with the goods at some point.
There's room for both! I love ED's remarkable tweakability. Very easy to use, too. And as much as I adore Patterning (having just had an epiphany about how great to have a 64-step pattern), I find the preset drum sounds mostly unusable. I know it's supposed to be easy to import them, but I'm not about to start hunting through folders for a great snare sound.... If anybody wants to correct me, I'm HAPPY to be shown ignorant!
As for this new feature, there's no reason it has to be some glitchy nonmusical snippet. Easy to have a Mozart tympani roll or a Coltrane sax bleat there. I'm thrilled by the possibility, and I want to know when it's coming!
I see Elastic Drums as a specialty tool in the rich iOS apps drawer: ED has a lot of personality and attitude which is 2nd to none for what it does: to my ears ultra-slap drums that take no prisoners combined with a lovely mudslide rodeo of FX / Automation potential.
As with so many apps I'd not want ED to be my Only source of percussion but hot damn I'm glad it's here. (And continuing to bite fist over idea of sample import).
For FX / garbely alien sqirrwirrglzzez it works great. Am super curious how samples will play out, if it extends things more into lala music land or if it is more elf nest glitch, which would still be fine by me.
The scrubbing of the waveform reminds me of iDensity and Borderlands.
In Patterning there's really some interesting drumkits made by users, just try them. btw I'm not throwing ED under the bus, but for me patterning has a feel to it that makes it fun to use. Other iOS drummachines I still like to use are Robotic Drums (unfortunately last updated in 2014) and Seekbeats.
