Mitosynth Updated
http://appshopper.com/music/mitosynth
What's New
• More than 25 additional patches, including new "basics" and "instrument" collections
• New “PWM2” modulation mode
• Compatibility fixes
I was contemplating on buying this yesterday so should I take the update as a sign to purchase?

I'm falling for Mitosynth all over again after messing around with PPG-WaveGenerator...
Luckily I found a table with Pitch to % values for creating melodic sequences using the 'sequencer' to modulate the pitch, puuhhh.
Running the modulation sequencer at 12,5Hz with 4 notes is perfect for classic chip-type arpeggios and the new PWM2 modulation makes them come alive

Like it. Can we have a link to the table?
For the table to work properly the min and max for pitch modulation in Mitosynth have to be set to -100 and +100.
And even then Mitosynth 'rounds up' some of the values...
(I wish Motosynth had +/- semi/cent for pitch related values).
It's a screencap from here...

The exact time length of a file has been returned to Hokusai's time stretch effect, also, as per my panicked twitter whining.
same here, I had forgotten just how great this synth is!! glad to see the devs are still updating it.
This synth is one of my top favs! Some of the pads made remind me of my Korg Trinity V3. Great synth!
+1 love the sound of Mitosynth
It is my Animoog.
How does Mitosynth compare with Poseidon? I love the sonic palette of Poseidon, but it's a little bit like wrangling a giant tuna. It's not hard to set the hook, but if it doesn't want to be reeled in, I find myself powerless to do so. (Also, I should admit that I picked up Poseidon because I was afraid of Nave, which is what I really wanted.)
Nave is one of my favourite iPad synths. It's not as complicated as it looks so no need to be 'afraid'
Both MitoSynth and Poseidon are completely different beats when it comes to synthesis capabilities.
Thanks
Mitosynth is definitely my main iOS synth these days, loads of fun with your own samples.
It's strange how apps seem to come back into favor at the same time for lots of people, I've been using for the last couple of weeks on various tracks but hadn't touched it fir months, then all of a sudden it gets a cool update, and the new sounds deserve a demo too me thinks
I think it's just a matter of time before we see basic sample-editing in Mitosynth.
Trim, Normalize, Fade In/Out and set loop-points, after that we can always dream of an AU-X implementation
You can use this with your own samples?! How?
Library page. Audio tab. Import button right just below the sample list
Used to love Mitosynth. Still do kinda, but lost a whole lot of presets (my fault) and never went back lol
I find Mitosynth has a smoother, fuller sound. I love Poseidon but it can have that tinny, sharp edge to it that a lot of iOS synths suffer from.
+1
I think Poseidon sounds really fat. It really depends on the patch. Both are amazing! But Mitosynth is getting lots of love right now from me
Thanks! I played with Shoom a lot out in the desert. Was really cool and used a lot or your presets with much joy. That dev was allegedly working on some more midi connectivity for Shoom as I recall. Have you heard anything about that on your front?
Exactly my problem with Poseidon, but I suspect much of that problem is user error. In my case, at least.
Yep that's what I thought. But I gave it a decent bash at generating my own presets using the supplied samples and failed. Now while I do think it's my lack of skill with it, I do not find the same problem getting a smoother fuller sound out of Mitosynth or WaveMapper or Nave. So maybe it would be more fair to say that I find it easier to achieve my goals with other synths.
I will say Poseiden probably is able at much much more with than I was able to achieve, but does get many brownie points for its new layout ideas and for peeking my interest again in Z-plane filters (I had some EMU gear).
Not heard anymore about Shoom. I absolutely Love Shoom and would love to see it cared for by the dev over the years (I'm sure that will happen). Glad you got some fun out of my presets
What I would love for Shoom is recording of gesture and parameter tweaks like Borderlands & Moodscaper
So much scope for Shoom. I would love to have a the ability to have a row of Animoog style keys under the XY controller and choose which sounds are played on both.
Wish Shoom was universal
Hmmm....just had a couple of crashes since the update...
Not yet for me. I've been using Richard Devine's new ringing rocks samples. Fabulous. What happened when you crashed?
