  • Wait--was that...? Dude, it's the middle of the workday in NYC. I can't be eating pot cookies!

(Yeah. I'm gonna keep up this shit until AB3 or Cubasis drops.)

  • Will I be able to use a second iPad as a AB remote and a BlueBoard to both control the main iPad at the same time?

  • Is there a release date for AB3? Any word on the new features?

Why can't you do that right now? You can have multiple Bluetooth connections on one iDevice.

No release date yet, but it's coming this year. What would you like to hear about the new features? :D

  • Just curious, I'm learning more about these apps everyday and want to stay on top of things!

  • We're working together with more and more developers now and they're updating their apps with the new Audiobus 3 SDK. Some will support the new Audiobus MIDI feature, which will make it easier and faster for musicians to set up midi routing. I think keyboardists and fans of innovative iOS midi controllers will love it.

  • I love it and I am a midi geekster

I'm really looking forward to this! But "coming this year" sounds more like December than October :disappointed: . But I'm sure it'll be so worth the wait.

  • @Munibeast you can bet on that, it really is

  • @Sebastian

I recently got my IAA MIDI implementation worked out. It seems to make more sense than Core MIDI and a whole lot more sense than Virtual MIDI. Does this mean AB3 will just intercept these messages and send them to connected apps? Or do I need to hook it up to the AB3 SDK?

a global audio record function (without jumping through hoops) :#

+1. Always available on the AB bar, a button to 'just record this stuff that's happening right now'. Though perhaps that breaks the "connections broker only" philosophy of the app.

Isn't this" the final audio connection"? ;)
A recording of what just happened 2 or 5 minutes ago.

Press apple and Z for undo to jump back in time in some temp buffer or something

Best moments get lost because you were just fooling around and had fun jamming around
And didn't press record somewhere because u didn't think that the next 5 minutes will be great and something to record ...

    ...

  • Go to recording.com and read the Jack Douglas Qoutable Quote about half-way down in the left column for a good laugh!

    Thanks for a great magazine!
And the thought of Jack Douglas in the studio with Yoko Ono, what a carry on!
    ( shurely shome mishtake?)

    @Sebastian
    questions about midisetup in ab3

so lets say I have ab3 hosting soundprism
and soundprism controls 2 other synth apps, synth x on ch 1 and synth y on ch 2
in ab2 this setup isn't saved, (u need to not change the midi-input-ch on the synths for this to work)
how does ab3 handle this scenario?
if i put an midi app in between those can it handle that?
does every single app I use would need to be updated to the new sdk for this to work (to get instant recall)?
what happens if I changed the midi input ch in the synths for some other project in the meantime?
the same as in ab2? (manual recreate setup, aargh, this is frustrating)

    tldr
are midi-ch now part of the state saving thing? ;)

  • I'm wondering if @Michael or @sebastian could comment on whether AB3 is slowing the progress of TAAE2?

I'm guessing they will work seamlessly together as they always have..?
Does this mean TAAE2 could possible include some new stuff to work with midi?

  • I liked the way AB2 was a free update with IAP for multiple tracks. Wouldn't this be the way to go for AB3 as well? I would buy the new stuff anyways of course. Just wondering why it should be a new app that costs 10€ for everyone. And I'm ready ;)

    Remember this? Good times. :)

  • yeah, those were the times. I wonder what the new ETA is?

  • Tomorrow is four years since Audiobus launched...

Got a point !! Would be ideal for the launch of AB3...

  • I wonder if when released there will be a bundle option for existing users?

  • I just recently did the in app purchase for multi routing. Will I have to purchase again in audiobus 3 or will purchases carry over ?

    +1

  • I think it is meant to be a new app, not an upgrade, alas.

@Sebastian says it's not an upgrade unfortunately. It's a new app. Still worth every penny when it come out. :)

I'll fast for a day, then with some of the money saved I'll purchase AB3 without any hesitation and full of wonderment and gratitude for such an amazing tool that allows me to do what I love.
