CrudeByte's tweet from late June:
But does this only mean their apps will host AUs? Not become AUs themselves? (I so badly want the latter.)
Ei siin ois mitää järkee et isymphonic hostais au instrumenttejä. Au efektejä pikkusen, mut eiköhän toi meinaa et ne toimii au instrumentteinä
Could mean AU fx hosting, but hmmm does that seem very likely? My money is on an AU extension of a single instrument sample set at a time (so not including the midi player). That would be a wonderful addition as I can't use the midi file player as no laptop to load the files with.
(Replying to the above, which in Finnish means it wouldn't make sense if the CrudeByte apps hosted AU instruments:)
But I meant they might host AU effects, not instruments... so reverbs, delays, EQs, etc.
I really hope you're right! And yes, that would be the ideal implementation, as far as I can see: single instrument sample set per AU instance.
Just a reminder that the cool Apesoft ApeFilter will be AU soon.
This really is a handy Filter/EQ/putting movement in a sound type of app. In my opinion it's a must have app
Definitely going to be picking this up in short order, along with the Ruismakers.
A little bird told me that there are going to be a couple of cool new additions to the AU family tree coming from an already established AU developer. I've got a strong feeling that for the most part, they're going to be quite 'effect'ive..
Not to mention, I think we can say with certainty at this stage that the AUFX series will be making their way to AU, as well as the EHX Mini Synth. I think very soon we're going to have quite a lot of choice!
It's ok to not make new forum threads and just, like, be...
iOS needs a killer grand piano AU. The problem is having multiple instances would crash your device most likely.
I've heard rumblings about SynthMaster AU and Nave AU
Ruismaker fm is about to drop
Does anybody find ISem AU less reliable then iSem as an IAA? It's a little finicky.
Yes, ready to push the button any moment now.
Yes very much so, though there's another update in the works
Yup and it's very slow to start compared to the other AUs i use
Well if the app would be an au instrument itself, you could host it and au fx in the same place, like aum. So spending time on making something like isymphonic an au host wouldnt make too much sense. Making it au instrument basically does both, allows it to be used as au instrument and t be used with au effects.
the app itself is very slow to start compared to other apps i use ...
Yes, I hope that's the case. I was only concerned (maybe totally needlessly) I might be assuming wrong. I've been really looking forward to the AUification, so it would be disappointing if it didn't happen the way I've been hoping.
It would also be cool to have a multi-timbral instance, if Cubasis were to then allow you to route MIDI from additional tracks to this single AU-instance. Perfect for a rich orchestral plugin.

I can't say I have noticed any issues with it personally
Still enjoying the SwarPlug, Indian sounds AU. So far, it's performed really well.
Ruismaker FM 1.0 is off to the Appstore for final review. Should be live any moment now!
Sweet!
Turning AUFX into AU plugins is on my list, of course. However, I still haven't decided if that should be a (free) update, or if I should release them as new apps (to get paid for my work). Currently, the AUFX apps does not bring enough income to pay for any update-work more than simple bug fixes.
If it would help upkeep of AU and IAA versions, I personally would buy them again.
I'd be sympathetic to buying them again as AU.
or make them new apps and offer upgrade prices through bundles. I personally would not buy them again but would buy upgrades.
Unfortunately I don't think that's possible since they are already in a bundle. Or maybe it's only a problem for those who originally bought it in a bundle. I never remember how bundles work, it's a confusing mess.
How dare you want paying for your work .....I'd buy them regardless of how you decide to charge for them.
There'd be enough value there for me to repurchase, which is practically a paid upgrade and makes total sense to me. The products are dramatically better when they can be multi-instanced.
Even better if you can make them "AU Parameter automation ready" despite this feature not yet being available in the hosts.
An aesthetic/visual refresh would also help the customer psychology of a new paid version
