Vertical position on the keys to control velocity as a modulation source doesn't seem to be working. I tried it to control volume and a few other things, and it did nothing.
What an update. Thanks @MoogMusicInc!
Some of the stuff like the consolidation of pressure, initial position dictating velocity and the velocity mod source sounds like they might be 'breaking changes' with regard to existing presets. Anyone run into anything weird?
@MoogMusicInc This is definitely not working. No matter where I touch a key on the vertical axis, volume remains the same. All other controls work fine. This is on iOS 9.3.5.
Thanks for the report, we'll look into this ASAP.
@MoogMusicInc What about the iPhone version?!? I'm feeling left out!!! :-(
We figured out what is going on here and have fixed it in a new build that we submitted to Apple.
Channel-pressure and poly-pressure are never sent together by any controller, so presets that were designed for one didn't work with the other and vice-versa. Consolidating them has only a positive effect in preset usability. We also realized that almost no presets were using velocity since nothing on the Animoog screen actually influenced it, only MIDI messages did. For the very rare preset that does use velocity, you'll now hear a difference when you playing higher up the key, but they're so rare that we figured the pros outweighed the cons.
We'll look at what can be done for the iPhone version soon.
Thanks for all the great work @MoogMusicInc
the clip color slider in the 4 track recorder seems to be stuck.
@MoogMusicInc thanks for the response regarding the iPhone version, totally understandable why it may not be a top priority. If I had one suggestion for the iPhone version, it would be the ability to scale the key size way down to accommodate more octaves. That's really about the only thing I can think of. It's likely to be played by thumbs on iPhone, and with the scales combined with optionally smaller keys, you can a) minimize finger movement, leading to a more relaxed playing experience and b) allow for wider ranging harmonies played live. Just my two cents. Thanks for such a phenomenal synth, it's in a league of its own.
Thanks, we'll take a look at that!
Thanks. The hold function also seems to be behaving differently. I can not latch the voices one by one anymore (on a polyphonic patch of course) each new press cuts off the previous voice, the only way to latch the voices together is to play them at the same time.
Seems like a missed opportunity to make apps with unique ipencil features for ios music. are there any apps with this feature that are worthwhile? (threadworthy?)
that question being posed, hats off to the app that started it all for me, opened my mind to that i could actually make music and then blew my mind with the music i made. great update!
I agree that this would be incredibly useful!! Equally important, would be IAA transport controls. These two things are the things I need the most! :-)
New update is already available, works fine now. That was fast!
While I have your ear, I think I suggested this before but, any chance we could get the randomization to target specific things, like only the timbers, only the orbit section, only the path section, etc.? Reason being, the randomization ends up being wildly random, often times not even producing sound due to settings being thrown off to extreme ends of the spectrum. You could maybe have sections to toggle on and off, sort of like you can choose timbre sections now. There's even space in the randomization section for more buttons.
Just a thought! Randomization of certain elements can serve as a good starting point for creating patches.
Good work Moog. May I suggest you add some new preset packs to Animoog later on, so that I can sink some more money into your app. I have every IAP. I worry that if you don't continue to get more revenue from the app that it may eventually not be updated. IAPs are a good way for us to keep supporting your work.
How do you mean? What's the missed opportunity?
Thank you @GeertBevin
See that's fucking awesome right there. What an experience that must've been to have Animoog be your first foray into music.
I hope the big one becomes universal, I would buy it if it was.
Another animoog update. 2.4.2
What lovely folks over there.
FYI @firejan82, Animoog v2.4.2 is now available with the hold feature fixed. Our apologies for the inconvenience caused by this regression.
@firejan82 this has also been fixed with v2.4.2, thanks a lot for your reports!
@MoogMusicInc Awesome! Thank you so much!

Got the update...glad to see this fixed!
So how about that AUv3? Animoog AU would change the world. There would be widespread peace on the earth.
