Lars, while you're handy: What's the deal with LoopMash HD? I never see this app referenced. Is it still being updated? Anybody use this?

    Hi ExAsperis99,

I'm sorry as of yet I'm not aware of update plans of LM HD.

    Best,
    Lars

    Hi all,

As with the past we do not put out promises on updates.

Instead we announce new versions when they become available, same goes for the upcoming Cubasis and Cubasis LE updates.

We're perfectly on plan and it will be worth the wait. Plus the update comes for free for existing customers.

    Have fun being creative
& a great weekend for all of you,
    Lars

    A positively inscrutable response :)

at first whenver Mr said "have a great weekend" on this kind of waiting-for-Qbasis-to-drop-thread, I took it to mean: the update will drop after the weekend...now I've realized it means have a great weekend.

    Indeed :)

  • I'm more concerned about those rendering/bounce timing bugs. They present a real de-incentive for doing anything meaningful in Cubasis

  • The great thing about never publishing a forecast release date is you're never late or have to rush something full of bugs out the door to hit the date.

Ding, ding ding, winner, winner, chicken dinner! What ever it turns up to be I can guarantee I will not be disappointed seeing how I am extremely happy with it already.

Course, I read the 'it is here' as, you know, the update is/was here....sigh.

If you take the first letter of each word it clearly says 'hey relax update is out in four days'.

I'm so pumped for this update I actually went and checked. Not that I'm a gullible ijit in the least. No sir, not me.

I too, had to go check my updates just to be sure.

Ditto! I'm getting tired of having to adjust midi-delay before freezing a track just to avoid a 'chopped off' beginning of the 'frozen' audio. This kind of calculation would be more precisely done by the app. (I suspect the 'freeze to file' misses a few audio-buffers since the audio seems to arrive before the midi-notes are even sent. It's a serious miss-match in calculations somewhere in the 'freeze' source-code).

  • I cant wait to play with the realtime timestretching / pitchshifting! (one of those troll-y days, ignore me!)

Sorry, I didn't think of that at the time.

  • My expectations on Cubasis 2.0 are thru the roof in so many ways...

I still try to behave, but I do expect things like auto-quantize, additional grid-settings(triplet grid please), realtime time/pitch-stretching, improvements to the sampler similar Groove Agent, Live post/pre-histograms where applicable (Parametric EQ and Filters etc.), Improved file/track management with folders and maybe even a co-op with Yamaha regarding DSP code for synths (FM/AN/DX/AWM2) and effects (VCM Effects).

Zooming is already said to ahve been improved so that's something to look forward to :D

That would turn it into Cubase proper. You sure Steinberg wants to do that for $50? :)

  • Right now, pre-2.0 is my hero: like butter with Modstep, smooth transition to iOS 10...

That would actually turn Cubasis into Auria Pro.

It's possible they do ir, and very welcome if it happens, specially in a free upgrade,, but i'm not betting on it, because Steinberg already sells a DAW with this feature set, Cubase Elements, for 100 bucks!

Sooner or later they will. Sometimes selling in volume beats selling just a few at a higher price.
I would not mind if the added IAPs to enable more 'Pro' features. It would be like with Gadget 'Gotta Have Em All' :D

  • Maybe they feel they need to compete with Auria and give it a run for its money. Track groups would be a nice addition.

  • 3... It's the magic number... Oh yes it is... It's the magic number...

Lovely. Very keen to see what you have come up with, knowing that you know what the direct competition does.

    Oh the DRAMA

  • Price drop.
Maybe because of the update going live soon???
    Fingers crossed.

  • Hope they have finally got rid of that blasted undo button!

I hope they kept it, saved my bacon a couple of times.

  • The undo works as it should and is very useful, this is why it remains.

  • Cubasis currently half off. I had been waiting for it to go on sale. I have the other 'Pro DAW" but this also runs on my ipad 4, which didn't have enough power for the other DAW, which I also like..

This is one of the signs foretold by Saint Lars and Samu the Baptist: 2.0 is coming!

Yay! Loving it now already and looking forward to 2.0.

I'm just a "Psychic" with somewhat shaky "Visions" of what is to come and sometimes my "Visions" may be somewhat "Suggestive" and end up in the final products haha...

Rest assured that it's part of my "nature" to find things that can be improved in just about everything no matter how good or faultless they pretend to be :D

But I do feel we're in for a real treat this time...
...and all this without any real proof of anything other that 'reading between the lines'
