That's my EZ. I ended up buying the full DrumKAT because I needed more external trigger inputs. Haven't yet posted the other stuff yet, hence my question about eBay vs Reverb etc. https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/15499/gear-for-sale-best-online-place-to-sell-it-ebay-reverb

I'm interested. How many external triggers do you use? The EZ has three, yes?

The EZ actually has 6 (three dual zone). If you buy it I'll throw in three stereo splitters which let you use 6 single zone triggers.

    I'll DM you after work.

You would think so - but some (very skilled) people treat drum machines as actual live instruments- I'm sure they will have a few patterns up their sleeves- for when other things need their attention :)

    You mean like ?

  • That made me tired just watching.

    And amazed too.

Yes - that was something else- all totally live with no programming at all- the joy of the mpc masters.

And yes the elastic drums update looks very promising- I'm sure it will be shifting a few sales.

Right now I couldn't imagine anything more versatile than Patterning. I use it to trigger the Nord Drum 2 both when recording and playing live, but often times I let Patterning's own sounds into the mix as well. Very flexible, has Link, has an amazing UI, excellent for odd polyrhythms, tight grooves and anything inbetween, sends the most (for me) essential control changes (note, velocity, decay, pitch) to hardware instruments. All in all, I couldn't ask for much more.

  • I smell a challenge B)

  • Shall I start the popcorn now?

God, all those retriggered cymbal samples just audibly blinded me!

  • @robosardine, when I saw your topic header: "Best Drum iOS Drum Machine for playing LIVE ?", I thought you meant playing the drums live (see YouTube link below); not pre-programmed patterns; although both are valid; and depends on the kind of music you are playing.

When I use my Korg padKONTROL, hooked up to something like SampleTank drums on the iPad, it makes a perfect live drum kit. The dynamics are incredible, from really soft, to nice hard velocity punches. Not all iOS drum apps allow for velocity playing; most are at a fixed velocity.

  • Hi- yes I see- what I actually meant was for building and manipulating sequenced patterns live- as opposed to playing them live- like an actual drum kit with your fingers. I would be happy if I could do either well :)

  • I like to use my cheeks. I find the noises my cheeks make when I pull them almost resemble a fap monster. Kind of like dub step. Then again there is always AKAI.
