I just noticed that Remaster AU don't work in Auria, has anyone else tested this.
Diggin the overall GUI facelift. Cleaner and much easier to focus on the tools. Not completely sure exactly what Rim did, but everything is much easier to read and navigate.
Topic title and first post both edited for usefulness.
For me, this was the smoothest easiest update since the last one before Pro hit. Since AP came along the updates (for me) were slow (hours) and involved redownloading IAPs and such. This time it was a breeze and took only a few minutes. Happy happy!
IOS 9.3.5 iPad Air 2. Buffer size 512. NO FX.
Here's what I did:
Test 1:
Test 2 was a repeat of test 1, except using iSEM AU-X. Audio of the bounced in place track started 1.8ms after the midi notes. I could hear a very slight chorusing due to the delay.
It would be interesting to try out a bigger selection of instruments - internal and IAA + FX - but that's all the testing I'm up for after a 12 hour work day. Certainly the performance I've seen so far is outstanding and more than good enough for my purposes. Besides, Auria has such excellent zoom and it's so easy to perfectly adjust clip position, I don't even think about it. That's just always been a part of the process since I started using DAWS.
Beautiful update! Thanks @WaveMachineLabs!
Great, @wim!
Ha! Nerd swagger from Rim over on the Auria forum:
Has anyone tried Viking with Auria Pro yet?
Happy to add another great AU host to the collection. It's good that AU finally seems to be picking up speed this fall. I foresee a bright 2017 for the format.
Yeah a few issues with stuck notes with the keyboard and AU fx crashing if opened in a certain order, but pretty good out of the gates. Once tweaked over time, will be great.
Definitely sticking on iOS 10 this time when iOS 11 gets here lol
Nce to see the 'Presets' are not in sync...![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
80s Piano in the menu and Gemini Strings in the picture
(This will cause confusion if the both the Plug-In and 'Host' have their own preset-management).
I gather from the screenshots from the others that AuriaPro also suffers from 'freezing' not being spot on the grid...
I've only played with it for about 10 minutes, but Viking seems to be working great.
Fantastic update!
Can you save presets with Viking?
Apple really need to sort the AU preset management concept out as it's a royal mess. It's completely unclear who is responsible for managing presets: the plugins or the hosts (they hinted that it should be the hosts and plugins were to provide factory presets, but this means there should be a system-supported way to easily use presets between different hosts).
Reports are 50/50 at this point
At least on @wim 's system it looks sample accurate.
Yeah, but what about your system?
I mean all developers are looking for a 'reference development platform' for AUv3/AU-X and I somehow feel that in near future it will be Garbageband ooops I mean Garageband![:D :D](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
Too early to tell, as I have yet to figure out how to use Auria![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Well Auria now does iSymphonic AU. Deleting GarageBand again! Lol
The keyboard and AU have made that much of a difference, I've deleted Cubasis as well as GarageBand![:o :o](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/open_mouth.png)
@Fruitbat1919 Same over here-what a relief!
Loving the update too, found a not compelling AU though, apefilter makes the whole thing crash as soon as you load it, anybody has the same issue ?
I had this issue, but after a restart and changing the order I loaded Apefilter, it was ok. Seems there are some issues still. The issues seem very similar to how some apps would crash AudioBus if not loaded in a certain order. Not ideal, but those issues were mostly worked out of apps over time, so I presume the same will happen.
Best thing to do is report any AU problems to both Auria and the app devs, as it's not always a host problem![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Also I'd love to be able to overdub a loop in auria, as soon as I record the loop becomes inactive, did i miss something?
I am sure that there used to be octave markers on the piano roll keyboard ?
EDIT...found them, but they are really light and almost impossible to see
Has it got cycle/loop recording yet?
Don't tell me it's still not possible.
You can overdub MIDI if you activate MIDI Record Overdub Mode in the Edit menu.
For Audio it's unlikely that Auria will be able to do this anytime soon according to Rim, for technical reasons that I can't quite recall - maybe he can chime in, but it's probably not a trivial thing to implement on a mobile device with limited RAM (Auria streams from disk for performance).
When you say overdub. Do you mean I can have an e.g 1 bar midi loop playing in record mode that won't stop recording at the end of the bar and I can overdub until my hearts content?
AP is no longer on my iPad and I'd love to clear this up before reinstalling it.
Cheers
There is overdub, but the loop mode gets desactivated... I wish I could have it still active
Extraordinary!
Is it only me and you that have noticed this?
My drift to midi made me forget lol
