  • Sweet, Wolfgang delivers again :D

  • This is awesome news. All that's left is for Korg, Beepstreet, Virsyn and Cakewalk to go the AU route with iM1, iPolySix, iMS20, Addictive Pro, Tera and Z3TA. Come on guys!

  • Instruments? Fx? More info?

  • I'm now wishing AUM had a built in keyboard like the PPG apps or Animoog.

    PPG Wavemapper and WaveGenerator synths

Great news and great that the random preset maker is also in the AU extension in Wavemapper :)

  • I may resume paying attention. This has been answered before, but can we refresh for this new thread?

Which of the two apps is more user-friendly/intuitive?

    IMO Mapper.

    Yeah baby !

  • Good news for those worried about cut down AUs

I've just saved my tinkerings on WaveMapper AU in Modstep.
My save is in the WaveMapper full app no problems

  • Here is my video about the new updates

Mapper for sure. And don't miss phonem! Already and AU!

  • Superb. Wolfgang (dev) continues to push boundaries and lead the way :)

  • Downloaded and love it

  • Not a GB fancier much, but playing this straight in as midi notes is a beautiful thing...

Thanks a lot for the clear and inspiring video.

  • Looking good. More power to AU.

If you guys are getting strange results when tweaking some sounds this may be why:

Altering the Filter Cutoff while on OSC 1, also alters the Octave slider! Oops (tested in Cubasis)

Actually it alters the octave of OSC 1 even when on any page.

  • Wavegen in AUM! Thanks Wolfgang!

  • Massive! Thanks Mr. Palm :)

  • Wolfgang bringing it!

Even without AU they were some of my favourite synths but now they went straight to the top of the list

  • Yes they work really well as AUs. Easy enough tweakability given.

Easy now to make super thick mega AUM pads

Any downsides are more to do with the AU format itself.

Plus given free! As if the PPG apps aren't bargains enough. Much more reliable and cheaper than hunting out a PPG Wave 2.3 :p

  • Any news on minimapper AU?

  • Does anyone feel confident in their patch design skills on the 2 Wave PPG apps?

I never got my stride on the comfortable factor.

    They have firepower, no doubt.

The interface just never clicked for me like ----- "ah hah!"

I never feel like I can envision the sound I want to create, instead it is what I design by what I physically do.

Whereas Nave and Animoog, I can literally think of a sound and get pretty close.

I wish I had that connection with these apps. I am going to dedicate some time to them.

The sound quality may be the best of any IOS synth app out there in reality. (IMHO)

  • One thing which i think is needed is to be able to save to a different bank within the AU gui, which currently seems impossible. If you change bank, you change your patch.

With the PPG apps you can at least open the main app while the AU is open and make new folders. I know that it's a pain having to change the folder on the AU to register that folder, but I just make sure I have made folders for all my AU hosts in all the PPG apps. That way I can sort them later.

Yeah I feel quite at home making sounds in the PPG apps. It's just they have a lot of envelopes and LFOs if you want them. I used to have a Waldorf XTK though, so it's pretty similar in the Wave table usage.

Thanks, yes that works, but it seems easy to lose a patch you've just created. If you change bank to an empty one you can save into that but if you change into any other bank you've just lost your patch unless you can save into the original bank (or save in host AU presets). I'd like to see the same functionality in the program manager as in the main app as it's a bit fiddly this way. Not automatically changing preset when you change into a different (populated) bank would help.

Amazing having Wavemapper as an Au though. :)
