  • Looks cool, grabbed! Thanks.

  • The "free" version expires after just a few minutes. Too bad, it sounds good and looks powerful. But guess what? I'm not buying it because teases like this are the worst kind of IAP abuse. :(

  • Until something has AB, I'm out.

@eyeballjackson The free version does not completely expire. Just some of the features. @Audiojunkie I hear you. I post non AB apps here to get a feel if forum members find it worthy of AB before I sending a request to Dev. With Some apps I request right away if I think they are relevant to AB. I do think some Devs test the waters first before adding AB.
Update: @eyeballjackson You're right. My bad. The first time I opened it I closed it before it expired. Still there are some nice features like the Waveform where you can program waveform changes in 16 steps.

  • @mgmg4871 I'm interested in both SidPad and Studio1111, but I won't buy anything until Audiobus is added. :-)

  • Hi All,
I'm actively looking into integrating Audiobus into both apps, Hoping to have it working within the next couple weels
    I'll keep you posted!
    Cheers
    Alex

  • @twisted_electrons. Thanks for stooping in. I'm looking forward to Audiobus integration. Love the wavetable modulator. Very nice app all around.

  • Nice synth....just downloaded and pretty impressed.

  • @Twisted_Electrons That's great news! I'll be watching for the update! :-)

There's some real issues with SidPad. There's a constant sustain when connected to midi keyboard. Also whenever I minimize app it has to be restarted.

  • edited July 2013

@eyeballjackson:that's pretty unfair imo. So,you would be more happy to pay the full price first just to find out that you don't like it?

Take it as it is.It's not"the worst kind of iAP abuse"...it's a DEMO.Unlock the full version if you like it.I appreciate the possibility to test apps before i buy them.I wish more developer would do it.Although iAP's rarely go on sale. But hey,we are talking about 4-5 bucks...

@ topic:interesting.I would buy the full version with AB as well.

  • SidStation owner here, loving this app!

The one reason I prefer "complete" apps over demo + IAP is that I already have apps that if I deleted them I'd never be able to get the IAP back as they are no longer in the App Store. Then again, for 4 bucks I don't see how I can feel that bad about it.

    Can't wait for AB integration!

  • good point.

  • I expressed my opinion. You are welcome to disagree. If the demo period expired after 24 hours, that might be considered reasonable. Of course, the developer is free to use IAP has s/he sees fit - and consumers are free to express their preference for apps that don't use IAP in this way. That's perfectly fair.

sounds like I'm missing out on a cool synth, but I've got plenty of apps to work with that dont make me feel like a freeloading criminal.

  • It doesn't work at all :-(

  • Hi,
    Thanks for the kind words!
@drelbs - Glad you enjoyed it, and a sidstation owner no less ;) FYI you can retreave previously purchased IAPS with the restore button (config panel)
@eyeballjackson - I respect your opinion, I'll extend the demo by a couple minutes inthe next update but you can also reset it simply by relaunching the app :)
@PieterrVos - Sorry to hear this! Please can you tell me which ipad/os you are using?
@mgmg4871 - thanks for pointing this out, I tested it on the oxygen 8 - maybe it's using different note off midi info (some keyboards transmit noteOn with velocity zero instead of noteOff)- I'm investigating this right now!

Please keep your comments flowing, I'm all ears!
Working hard on audiobus integration, hope to have this working over the weekend
    All the best
    Alex

@eyeballjackson: fair enough. It was just the"worst kind of iAP abuse"that bothered me.You want some REAL iAP abuse? You should play some iOS games from Electronic Arts ;-)

I agree that a couple of minutes is really to short for a demo.

    .

  • @twisted_electrons ARRRRGH do ya have to be so nice? Now I'll probably BUY the darn thing!

  • Hi Folks, just to let you know SIDPAD 1.4 just went live, with AUDIOBUS :)
Enjoy and thanks for the support!

    Alex

  • By the way, Studio1111 Also has audiobus now ;)

  • edited August 2013

    Excellent!

Now that I'm spending more time playing with this - any chance for a pitch bend wheel on the left and/or octave up/down buttons somewhere?

  • Go Pro option not working. Also can you give a list of drum kits in Pro Version?

  • Ok, got it to work, but clicking on left side of restore button operates the play button on drums page.

  • It is working now ; a new experience :-)

  • Now this has Audiobus support I just had to go pro. This is a very tweakable synth but if I could sync some parameter's to midi clock this would be even more fun.

  • edited August 2013

@Multitouch Unfortunately, Midi Sync sucks on the iPad... You could try adjusting BPM to get approximations though. It's old school, but works in general for LFOs, delays, etc.

  • Thanks @Audiojunkie I have done some old school style BPM syncing but it can be quite frustrating at times and I personally would'nt blame the Ipad for the Midi Sync problems but I would blame the Dev or Devs for their implementation of Midi Clock and Sync. In my experience
Some Devs have got it just right, some almost work and others completely wrong.I thoroughly test
My apps ability to sync via midi and then put them in one of three categories. ( Can sync - Try's to sync and can't sync. All the can sync apps become my regular production tools and the rest just make guest appearance's in my songs. At the moment I can run Loopy Hd in output with twelve stereo tracks bleep!BOX with ten mono synth tracks EasyBeats 3 with sixteen sample tracks so thats at least thirty eight audio tracks running in sync on my Ipad 4 and I still have the third Audiobus slot free.I imagine IOS 7 will address the issue for new apps or Devs willing to update their existing app but I'm not holding my breath.

  • @Multitouch "At the moment I can run Loopy Hd in output with twelve stereo tracks bleep!BOX with ten mono synth tracks EasyBeats 3 with sixteen sample tracks so thats at least thirty eight audio tracks running in sync on my Ipad 4 and I still have the third Audiobus slot free."

So you're saying that Loopy HD, bleep!BOX, and EasyBeats 3 sync perfectly with each other?

Are there any other apps that you know of that work perfectly with each other?

    Thanks,
