Really wished there was a simpler way to scroll the tracks left or right on the iphone instead of using the arrows. Like just sliding left or right with the finger would really rock for work flow. On the ipad its no problem since there's more screen, but it would rock on the iphone. Also, any chance on giving us more tracks, maybe at least two more? Usually most of my backing track midi loops have 8 tracks but 16 would rock!
Maybe you could sell the extra 8 tracks as an IAP and make a few extra development bucks!
You need to toggle Song/Loop mode. @SecretBaseDesign Some sort of indicator would be nice to avoid this confusion. Maybe the button's icon in the bottom bar can change? While I've got you, I also think the animations and long hold timing could be sped up by a factor of 2. Thx.
I'm planning on adding the song/loop mode toggle to the horizontal bar directly above the keyboard -- I have to be careful with space, though, because the app runs on the iPhone 4S, and it gets really narrow (and heck, for the iPad slide-over, it's kind of narrow too). I'm trying my best to keep the UI consistent across devices, and that's resulted in some spots getting squeezed.
I should add more tracks and loops in an upcoming update. I started with six tracks, as that was what seemed to fit nicely on the iPad, but adding more is certainly do-able. I'll also try to get something better to switch between tracks on the iPhone; I've been avoiding doing a horizontal swipe on the loop area, as that's how you'd erase a loop -- but maybe a swipe up on the top area where you select the tracks would work.
Code development is happening; a couple of goodies are nearing completion, and if I drink enough coffee, I'll have it ready for my favorite holiday, 11/11, OneLouderFest!
Thanks a lot for adding triplets, by the way. Hotly anticipating the next update since you hinted it'd deliver Undo. This app is just wonderful.
Thanks I noticed the looping
Yes it is.
Oh yeah, now that we have triplets I forgot to make my new demands!
--could projects please 'remember' the scale setting that was last used in them? I've been stumped a couple of times when I was working in, say, A# double harmonic scale but didn't write it down in the project notes (or had an unexpected ios issue), and then couldn't remember what my scale was when I came back to the track later. It's also nice to not have to reestablish the scale setting if I have to kill and restart the app for whatever reason
--related: could we have a way to name and save custom scales? This is especially a pain to write down in the project notes
Thanks!
I'll get it onto the to-do list! Not hard by any stretch of the imagination, just will take a little time to get done.
