  • I wasn't impressed by the demo either but loads of potential with this and great to have this in Gadget. Still not sure if there's any quality difference between Standalone and Gadge versions but nothing obvious.

Question and critic. First how to get it synced to anything, like for example Cubasis??? Looks like the temp of the arpeggiator cannot be changed in any ways. Besides that, changing the tempo in the settings is p.i.t.a. Please please change it to numeric enter also. Besides that, changing the tempo here has no effect to the arpeggiator. Also in the host (Cubasis). Maybe I am doing something wrong, but for the money, I am wondering that there are not more possibilities in the settings for tempo change, midi, a.s.o..

Lol. I've tweaked their Curried sound just slightly - now it has more teeth. I'm gonna get my Billy dance on later :p Now where did I put my Monsieur X T shirt?

  • If I had the money I would buy a Kodyssey!

    Yah our dollar sucks!

    $349 mexican pesos, THAT SUCKS!!

  • What do you hardware guys think of the filters compared to the originals? I've never played an original, but the three different filters on this are really quite interesting in the differences.

  • Here's a great playlist of tutorials on the ARP Odyssey:

The SEM is crazy in self oscillation.

  • Does anyone know if it can receive programme change commands via midi? Couldn't find anything in the manual.

  • Groovy app. Well done Korg. I'm not familiar with the hardware, and have to say it has a lot more depth to it than meets the eye. This is a good thing. The arp and x/y pad add a lot, being able to assign them to parameters. Also, anyone notice the default keyboard has a tilt effect to it? I like details like that, even if they are just cosmetic.

  • Hmm.. my user sounds saved in Odyssei don't show up in Gadget (and vice versa).

I always wonder why Gadget makes my iPad Pro so hot. Even playing 1 synth... Play Odyssei stand alone and it doesn't get hot.

Anyway, lush sounds, fx are a nice addition.

  • On standalone am impressed by this. Real nice sound and def got the Odyssey character.

  • how does it compare to arturias v collection version?

The V collection synth is the ARP 2600 not the Odyssey. Similar but different.

  • This isn't showing up for me in either Auria or Cubasis under IAA (it does appear in Garageband though). Anyone have it working in these 2 apps?

  • edited November 2016

    Shows up for me...

  • Yepp, it shows up as IAA-Generator when selected on an audio-track but not as IAA-Instrument if a midi-track is selwcted...

AUv3 would be nice even if it's a CPU hog :)

  • Fantastic App. But the Korg iOS app of wavestation it is not true?

  • What's up with the "Unison" section (or "Voices" in the manual)? Both the "Unison" and "Voices" digits only go up to 8, but the manual says they should go to 16 and 32 respectively. This is on iOS 9.3.5, iPad Air 2, with it set to "Poly".

I'm thinking device limitations, or maybe the manual is simply wrong???

It was talked about on the Korg microKast as well physically seen by somebody here. I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

  • First music app I bought in months ... loving it

  • Really really liking this app. Been getting some grimey sci-fi sounds, mostly by accident. :) The IAP presets show off a good variety of sound. Minor gripes: Can't change the skin on a patch you're working on, also the switches on the second skin are kind of hard to tell if they're up or down (which in a way almost nullifies the first gripe).

All in all though it is great: The arp and x/y pad can get some evolving things going, the unison and detune/spread delivers some fat goodness, and the routing is surprisingly complex even though it appears somewhat simple which really let's you do a lot of things to shape your sound. The effects are the icing on the cake, haven't even messed with them yet!

  • randomizer?

Everyone so far has been talking about 8 voice polyphony everywhere I've seen, so I think the manual probably just hasn't been updated to reflect the final limits they chose for release....

    I haven't found one yet

  • edited November 2016

Gadge needs multiple outs now more than ever :)
edit: should've put this in the gadget thread though

  • Other minor gripes: The filter freq seems weighted to the low end, as anything below about 70% on the slider seems to wipe out the sound completely. Could just be the patches I'm working on, aka user error. Also, patches made in the app don't show up in Gadget??? :# Big swing and a miss there.
