  • And an update that brings back the useful slide over and split screen modes plus more.

  • Now this is something to get excited about.

Were the IAPs always that inexpensive?

  • This is real cool,so far so good.

  • Peter, you are amazing! Never a dull moment with DD and now on the road with us. This will surely improve the take up. Great work.

  • so happy to have this on my iphone now. were do go to put my own samples into it?

  • I'm not sure if sample import is included in the phone version. I don't see an option for it. You might be able to use "Open In" in an app to get samples over, but I haven't tried it. @technemedia - can you advise?

  • It says in the description it has sample import

  • I'll add the Sample import into a follow up update. Just too much for this round already. For now if you have iPad version you can upload a Preset to the Community (turn "Public" off and use Tab "Mine" to download) then download it on the iPhone and the samples will come over.

  • awesome. i can't wait for sample import. still glad to see this on iphone. very nice

  • I wish I could give this guy "tips"$$$ for all his hard work all the freaking time

Hope he knows how appreciated it is.

  • so even without the sound on, I'm dragging around the screen and things are morphing and moving and that makes me happy. Can't wait to dive in later after work. Also, are there advantages to sample import as opposed to just sending midi out?

  • Sample import is good if you don't have a sound source on your device that can create a particular sound. I usually stick with midi though.

  • @technemedia I see there's an IAP for zenterface unlock and zen pack and zen phaser on iPhone. I can only find a button to purchase zen phaser in the app. How do I get the pack?

It also says the zenterface is unlocked on iPhone without purchase in the description so I'm sort of confused

  • @technemedia Has iPhone version got midi and audio settings?

  • edited November 2016

@Kkani it does but not sure if the channels are freely asignable.
Is there a list of splitscreen compatible synths anywhere? does anybody know?

First of all, congratulations at @technemedia, and I am looking forward to officiating at your union with @funjunkie27.

For those that have not downloaded different drummer or feared that it was too complicated, this release has many presets for different types of drum patterns. It's a big help if you are trying to figure out how different drummer works.

That said I like different drummer for way more than drums, but these presets make the app more accessible to newcomers.

  • You're gonna scare Peter away from the forum @johnfromberkeley!

Agreed that the patterns is a nice add!

  • @johnfromberkeley that may be more of a Berkeley thing...Fun and I are all set with the regular DD buddy stuff. As for iPhone and IAP, should only be Zen Phaser since Zenterface is default. For sample import, dummy me, should have just added AudioShare button...did it this morning for next update. Needs work on the fancier midi out settings for phone...to.

  • My favorite with patterns is to mess with the note wave and dynamics wave...they maintain the groove but take on a whole different vibe.

  • My favourite thing is to just slide sliders and press stuff and see what happens lol yeah I do like presets though for something to destroy for fun >:)

I ~really~ wanted something like this when I started. now, i encourage folks to think of different drummer as more than a drum machine. in fact, trying to squeeze out a very specific beat with waves can be tedious.

  • Definitely don't settle for the stock presets which are a bit boring until you digitally slap them around a bit.

    I like that....I'm a digital slapper :p

  • @technemedia what will the sample length limit be?

  • No limit but I have plans in v5 to do more with longer samples.

    Oh awesome awesome! Thanks!

  • The UI is behaving very oddly on iPhone SE ... But somehow I don't mind, it's great to see it on the small screen. Love this app.
