The problem with tossers is there's always another just around the corner. Not so with great artists. They are irreplaceable.

LC was one of those guys you would just love to have had a chat with and then wrote some music. No idea what he was really like, just have this image of him being really interesting if he would open up to you.
There is a great video on YouTube "Leonard Cohen talks depression and relationships" that appears to be fairly recent. One of a kind this man.

I met him after a concert in the mid 80s and found him to be engaging, extremely polite and attentive to the needs of others. There was a lot of history in the room and a sudden intense silence ensued..I broke the ice by asking Leonard about his band and an earlier tour I saw him perform...he seemed relieved ..and very happy to talk about the music with a fan...
They way he lived, did what he was best at, loved, said farewell and departed in the end, was complete and wonderful. Mr Cohen gave us all so much. With him gone, the world today is just less than it was yesterday. What a year.....
