  • They used to have a chap called Kalle Paulsson who was their Mobile Apps Product Manager. Not sure what this means; has he left? Anyone know something?

    Sweet...

  • @Beathoven yes he left earlier this year. Interesting news :)

  • Figure Pro. For the love of God, please.

    I missed that.

Definitely good to see their commitment to mobile and iOS in particular. I just hope their efforts will be more like Korg's and less like Allihoopa.

  • Reason you say...

That's got to be good news.

    Stands to... Reason. Hiyo! ;)

  • Jakob Haq got a live stream tomorrow with a Announcement. He has been an ambassador for Propellerheads so maybe news to come!

  • Reason for iOS

    YES :-)

Yeah, Korg's Gadget needs some 'competition' :)

  • Id love to see a version of Reason players come to iOS. Scales and Chords and duel ARP inside a iOS Reason style DAW or sequencer would be so cool.

That is the biggest thing to me. Get another party in to shake things up.

  • Figure is "based on reason" isn't it? Could be another similar scale thingy. Not that that's a bad thing but I don't take that announcement as "reason iOS". But then, I'm American and about as pessimistic this week as I've ever been.

How are things in your neck of the woods? PM me if you're concerned about Politeness.

  • NN-XT and Kong Drum Designer as AU-X for iOS would be a nice start :D

Oh, when you look at the Props open positions page (linked above), their intentions are pretty clear (even if the particular output of those intentions isn't). Three openings, all mobile.

They should probably just hire @j_liljedahl and pay him all three salaries. :) He can devote a third of his new richman salary to paying a dev minion to keep Kymatica rocking.

It is based on thor engine

I have secretly hoped for a long time that "Figure8" would appear but Figure Pro works too

There was a time when you opened Figure it would say "Powered by Reason" on the splash screen. I think it was mentioned in a thread here a couple of years ago, but I was never quite sure what it meant. It did remind me of it when I read about these new "offers" being "based on Reason". Not sure if they mean a daw or more basic apps. I guess we won't know for a long while yet. Though it could mean the start of a new path for Propellerhead; perhaps inspired by Korg's success. :p

    Yes!

Nice. Figure, for all it's simplicity, still stands out as an app that actually understood and embraced the touchscreen interface. Way too many developers overlook this aspect of iOS, and are still seemingly stuck in desktop mode. Hopefully whatever they got cooking keeps and even improves upon this understanding.

I second that, 1P18! I was wondering, since Figure came out, that they've made it free. Might be, that they were doing a "public beta" :#
A new Propellerheads app, a mobile Reason or a Figure Pro would be really sick! If this happens, I think my mobile affair with Cubasis might be over :D But guess it will def. take some time.

  • Reason Mobile would be a wet dream come true. Maybe they might go this route as how Image Line will be bringing FL Mobile 3 to all platforms, which intergrated with the Desktop DAW? Also, Propellerhead has now added Ableton Link to Reason 9.1.......... So I'm sitting on the fence again........ IE: I'm going to wait and see what will come........ Will come.... ;)

Why should Reason Mobile be a better alternative then example Korg Gadget?
Gadget has almost everything we need (sampler missed) and I think before spring 2017 we will have at least five new Gadgets and an update to the core app with extraordinary functions we still don't ever have thinking of...

And, Auria Pro & Cubasis 2 together with Audiobus 3 and AUv3 have a bright future...

But, Propellerheads, surprise us all! As a Swed myself I'm pretty proud of the capabilities of all Swedish music company...

Yeah, I kinda feel Korg has surprises in store for us all :)

I still don't know what 'app' a forum members saw at SynthFest in the UK at the Korg Booth with 'wave-forms' it was definitely not the ODYSSEi...

We also have BeatMaker 3 to look forward to and the yet unreleased semi-mysterious BeatHawk update..

Back in the MacOS 'Classic' days I bough Reason and fiddled with it quite a lot until my PowerMac G3/266 gave up and got 'retired'(ie. the hardware completely gave up on me). That was also a sad moment because I had to retire my Yamaha SW1000XG+PLG-150AN together with CubaseVST3 and it's 'XG-MixerMaps').

As for 'new' apps I would love to se 'ReBirth' reborn/reworked UI and maybe even a sampler...

I agree with you both........ But it's still be nice if Propellerhead created Reason Mobile. It's nice to have options in choosing a different DAW type app. Every DAW has its Pros & Cons to which suits ones needs. Whether it's iOS, Mac or PC? It's also healthy to have a little competiton for everyone who creates music, or other interests. :)

  • At the moment I'm hooked on FL Studio 12.4 Transistor Bass VST. It's really Fab. A different way(easier) of fiddling around with a TB 303. Especially when programmed to a Akai LPD 8 controller.

Yeah, the Transistor Bass is tempting once FLM3 for iOS is out, wonder how much it will be as an IAP...
