A guitar and a place to lay your head. Half the songs ever made are based on that.

    +1

  • Cluster headaches sound terrible (from what I've read about it), just hoping for you that you don't have them too often. I've read and seen some hopeful things about the treatment of cluster headaches with psylocibin mushrooms...

    I heard cayenne pepper helps.

  • Wow... you just never know what kind of trouble your fellow humans are going through. Here I thought you had this charmed life of just making sweet synth patches and reviewing apps. Glad things are looking up a bit @Fruitbat1919

So I found a place with the help of some great friends.

I was also given a Mexican Fender Strat by a friend as a present :)

    Excellent news!

  • Hey, you've got some awesome friends. :)

  • Yep I've got awesome friends and now I have to learn to play the guitar! Just need to save up and get something to connect my guitar to my iPad and away we go.

Needs the pots cleaning and a little TLC, but these Mexican Fenders ain't half bad!

If you have a CCK already, the cable for the Playstation game Rocksmith is a pretty reasonable price. Only tried the PS version but I imagine it's the same cable for any version of the game. Guitar Jack => USB.

Thanks for the idea, but I don't have the CCK

My Dad had Cluster headaches that came in episodes. 2 months and then none the rest of the year, etc.

I had plateau migraine headaches for years starting in my early 20's but Imitrex and Zomig helped alot. My Pop had the cluster migraine variety real bad when I was a kid in the 1980's & I felt for him but also was scared & sooo over them because dude would scream, pound his head, yell for hot towels etc. Anything to help stop what he said felt like "a hot poker in the eye".

Oxygen, Ergotamine, etc didn't help but when the Imitrex injections came & his Dr prescribed them he finally got something to help if not cure at least reduce their duration big time.

Years later when I got long plateau migraines Imitrex was like first line of defense & it helped so much.

FruitBat glad to hear you got place & if you ever get overwhelmed with the headaches try Imitrex or Zomig... they're so effective though you might have already been given them.

Awesome about the MIM Strat, they are extremely great guitars (especially '90's and early 2000's). Enjoy FB, here's to 2017 being a much better year for you (and us all).

  • Do you have an audio interface of any kind already? If not then there's bound to be something on Ebay.

Only pain relief I've found works personally with my Cluster Headaches is either my Oxygen tanks for really low level attacks or the Sumatriptan injections I have. I get between 1 and 5 attacks daily mostly 2. I've had my current bout for nearly 2 years without relief now. They now class my bout has having gone acute. I used to only have them for 3 to 6 months a year. I also have lots of problems with the other medication they give me that is meant to cut the bout lengths down.

.....but hey.....I now have a guitar!! Lol

At the moment nothing. I'm plugging direct into my old studio monitors. I had planned to get the iConnect audio, but lots of crap stuff kept stealing my money lol

  • It's a 2001-2002 Strat after looking up the serial number

Yeah I love making synth patches. Making sounds is such a relaxation for me. Have to wait now until I get my monitor speakers and headphones moved to my new place and then it's back to making noise YAY!

Perhaps the headaches you will 'self induce' while learning the guitar will make your cluster ones seem less painful :p

Don't be tempted by any of the rip-off iRig's you will see on eBay, they don't work, well at least the one I originally got didn't.

Do you have a working 30 - pin to Lightning adapter ? If so drop me a mail, I got something you would find useful ;)

You're not going to send me a sledgehammer to sort out the guitar are you? Lol

Yeah wonder how long before I grow a beard trying to learn guitar haha
