It's gotta be this:
(Lady Leshurr - Queens Speech 6)
I like it going to look at some more of her videos now.
I dunno, seems like a loaded question. I didn't read through the whole thing, but are we only measuring "intelligent people" by IQ?
I know many here are older and no longer playing the pick-up game, but if a woman asks you what kind of music you like, I wouldn't recommend saying "just about any type of music."
I agree with Mr. Lepage about curiosity and variety, though I admit to finding no redeeming value in any genre other than The Rolling Stones.
You know, like everything... except rap and opera.
and modern country
AC/DC of course. But only back in the day when Bon was ripping off lyrics from Flaubert.
There is music other than Classic Rock?
You mean you can't listen to grind core with an IQ above 120?
^^
>
Ah, a brother in ears!
I've never heard of that genre. I've heard of country and western.
^^
I don't think our intelligence directly influences musical tastes but indirectly through our exposure to music......Our perceived intelligence could put us in different situations (higher or lower graded class in school, going to college, university, who our work colleagues are etc....) which would give us all different exposure to different music.
lol
PS : As an Hip Hop and Rap fan, I'm used to this kind of topics where everyone think he is a real musician who can decide that Hip Hop and Rap are not music lol... And I don't give a f****.
Actually, it's so human that it's really laughable : "something I don't know is something I don't like" if you know what I mean ;-)
I don't get it. It looks like the guy framed the question as if it has been subjected to scientific inquiry, but then the responses are just a bunch of opinions on the topic. Maybe we listen to the music we listen to because we like how it sounds. Or maybe because we like how it makes us feel. Maybe...
Not directly related to that thread but I found this a really interesting read

I'm a new waver at heart, but you can only listen to so much of that. I've gotten more interested in roots music as years went on, but don't listen to enough of it. I enjoy Brazilian of all types as well as Afro Cuban and dub reggae. That's what I pump for afternoons on the patio. I'm trying to educate myself on African music; both traditional and upcoming artists. As a yuuge Peter Gabriel fan, I've found his label a great resource.
Or this
No...it's definitely this
MIDM
If that Grindcore is Carcass, then I'd say it's possible. They are some pretty smart dudes, so, their fan base has gotta be too?
Anyone who uses "intelligent" as an adjective preceding any noun other than "quotient" is suspect from the start. Or has some kind of social-darwinism axe to grind. Or is trying to explain why they always got picked last in street hockey.
I was actually kidding. It was a reference to a 90s thing that i now realise wasn't very popular... An inside inside joke.
I take it you won't want tickets to the latest Monteverdiminem 'Hip Hopera' then
The Fall.
You're welcome.
Up until "This Nation's Saving Grace," at least.
I listen to my own music. Dunno if that makes me a genius or a an absolute moron
But this is even more POP!
And more intelligent
I'm quite a fan of the newer stuff - Fall Heads Roll is a brilliant album, and Stout Man from last years Sub-Lingual Tablet is one of my favourite tracks.
What does it say about my intelligence that I also listen to Dumpy's Rusty Nuts and The Macc Lads ?
