I won't say again what I think of Retronyms and what they did to iMPC Pro... but I'll just recommand you to stay on BM2 and maybe try to send your sliced samples in Gadget with the Bilbao IAP and you'll get a blast man

This. I'm done with BM2, and having a blast with Bilbao in Gadget. I'm getting absurdly productive.

Yeah, I'm hoping Korg will announce something 'Gadget Related' at NAMM'17.
I'd love to see a keyboard oriented sampling/re-sampling Gadget and well more 'Gadgets' :)

YES :D I would love to see new Gadgets/features announced!!

    Beathawk 2? Hmm, maybe 2019.

BH2 is still in Beta. A new build was released this week. It is coming along slowly but surely.

  • Someone could point me to a review with the "lacks" of BH?

BeatHawk 2 is due for an update too...

Haven't kept up with BH. Is it supposed to be the dream MPC we've been asking for?

Bees will be bamboozled and socks will be blown. Will it be a dream MPC? Probably not, at least not for those who do the dreaming. But if they ever decide to release it there's no question it's going to be a big step up from the previous...

Does the app have midi feedback aka Animoog (for using external controller)? Meaning whenever you change a parameter on iMpc the value is reflected on the hardware

    ?

now if we could get that in a bold larger font and get everyone to post on the akai Facebook page it would be wonderful. This is a very good app when it works It frustrates me to no end that the pitchforks do not come out in mass!

This thread is really helpful for us. I'd love to pass along your suggestions to our developers. Will you email us and describe what happens when you use iMPC Pro? support [at] retronyms.com

Also... who's going to be at NAMM next week?! Come hang out with us.

IMPC pro crashes all the time and no autosave. Even tho its a great app in theory, it just doesent deliver because of that. And the devs doesent seem to be interested on fixing it..

Hey, so sorry to hear that you're having difficulty with iMPC Pro. I'd be frustrated too. We totally want to help you and in order to fix these problems, the more details the better. Can you email us explaining in more detail what happens when you're using iMPC Pro? support [at] retronyms.com

I keep intermittently deleting and reinstalling impc pro cause of certain bugs or limitations, but after a while think of a different work flow with compromises to try and make it work, but failing again. I like to roll my own beats, and it's the ability to sample straight to a pad via a signal threshold from IAA which I love. It's fast and as long as you don't let it record too long, you don't have to mess with trimming in edit mode afterwards because the beginning of the file is already taken care of. I'm impessed that with drums, it doesn't miss the first transient. I'm sure line-in sampling you might tho. It also alleviates the need to sync impc with anything, no delay compensation settings, ect. I havent found any other app that does this. And if you simply cancel the sampling screen without recording, you're still able to monitor the source while banging pads to get ideas.

However, their level meters are way off. The major buzz kill for me is their mixer. It's fantastic that they leave you one slot for in the channel strip for processing via IAA. But their send/return doesn't have an option for pre/post fader. So it's impossible to get a 100% wet signal when resampling. For one example, for delays, I would like to keep the unprocessed pad panned differently to the resampled result of the fully wet result.

Another deal breaker for me, it handles AUM fine as an IAA input. But it wont play well if Gadget is in AUM, but Gadget is fine as IAA in impc pro alone without AUM.

In reality, I'm my own worse enemy, and have a hard time letting go of obsessing over "proper" recording and mixing practices. I'm having a hard time letting go of my DAW upbringing.

Hey, thanks for explaining your experience in such detail with iMPC Pro. I'm going to share this with our developers. Do you mind emailing support [at] retronyms.com, so that we can help make your experience even better? - Taylor

Then please don't overlook posts like these-

How did they fail so badly with this, i know InMusic are complete idiots at the best of times and actually have 10 marketeers for every developer, but they have a complete blue print for this, take an MPC2000 and make an exact replica, make it extremely stable, update the UX to work entirely with a touch interface (Something they should have researched heavily considering the Touch and the two new standalone hardware MPCs about to be released)

This is not rocket science, which developer actually made this for them ?
