This (mogees) device provides what is discussed in this thread: the piezo mic in a protective encasing along with an easy way to securely attach it to many surfaces, and includes a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter (only Pro version?).
You can use it with Impaktor as an external mic and it works great -- which is more than I can say about the Mogees apps. I've uninstalled them...
By the way, where's the Impaktor wish list? I want landscape UI for iPad most of all, followed closely by AUv3 or at least reliable IAA for use in AUM.
The interesting part is the app so if it doesn’t work properly what a shame...
Yeah, that was exactly my thought. Somehow I thought that the mogees dongle was much more than some glorified piezo mic. Such a shame.
Don’t know nothin bout no mogees, but thanks for bringing this thread back to the surface. I was going to ask a bunch of dumb questions about using Impaktor with various mics, but now I don’t need to. I now have 4 pages of info to sift through.
I just got impaktor going with a used Roland PD-5, and an old iPhone, as a mutant Synare type rig, and am getting full joy. Thanks so much for the suggestion of the v-drum pad.
I’m using an otherwise useless irig guitar pedal, that isn’t an audio interface exactly, more of a glorified adapter, as it gets the guitar into the iPhone thru the 1/8” headphone/mic jack, and the audio out is the phones headphone out. It murders the guitar tone, making it useless for its intended purpose, but with impaktor, the impulse signal from the drum pad doesn’t need to sound good, it just needs to trigger the app.
It’s a really great instrument, responsive to your playing dynamics, and fast, even on an old device.
I would also like landscape mode for iPad.
