    @Moderndaycompiler - Sure, no problem.

Drum roll... How to convert input from a single MIDI channel to note-per-channel output using GeoShred.

To keep it simple, I'll describe a version with five-note polyphonic note-per-channel output.

That should do the trick. :)

Thank you very much @HandsOfEmpty !

Thanks a lot. I can now transform my (very simple) enkl monophonic synth into a very powerful polyphonic instrument (using 5 AU in AUM). That's great !!

What else can I do with MPE ?

Just a note that if you are using TJ as controller there is no need to go through GS to accomplish this, just enable channel per touch in the midi output options. Or am I missing something @Matt_Fletcher_2000 ?

Yep. I got that working. But I'm also interested in round robin per channel midi ccs (eg on the y axis of each note).

Ok, TJ has a few fixed CC bindings if you have one of the controls set to X-axis, pan CC10 or volume CC7 (or channel pressure) if they are enabled for midi output. They should be respecting the channel per touch, if they aren't it's a bug. But I understand the fixed cc# limitation and how that is a problem. It will eventually be rectified for sure.

    Definitely strange, this MPE :)!

From TJ surface to Gadget, I can confirm the bindings to be active with a newly assigned control on an instrument, although there seems to be a different mechanism than in geoshred - mainly through the output 'channel start' selector.

With geoshred as intermediate there are rows/octaves per channel on the same surface.
With Fugue Machine outputting four channels thru TJ, the instruments played depend on notes in lower and higher octaves (and the channel start nr.)
Tc-data as midi input has yet another sound-character altering effect on e.g. Moog model 15.
Optionally Chordmaps2 and Navichord, who can transmit midi through multiple channels.
And an external keyboard would need to be set to the respective channel (and the more notes played the more instruments/channels are triggered).
Then the arp/cycling thing. Defying control.

    Multidimensional implications for sure ;)

However, all variations have their own beauty ...

  • What happened to the $19.99 @jordanwizdom ? Thought it ran thru end of year.
