1 week to go...just in case anyone forgot :)

    Modstep>Aum>Gadget I'm ready :)

    Can't you do that now?

Yes but limited to the Bilbao and Abu sample lenght seconds.

Yes the addition is being able to use longer audio in a more useable fashion and to be able to rearrange it....currently you are either limited by the Bilbao/AbuDhabi time limit.....or you cannot easily rearrange using audio within AUM (its not too bad for looping)

Wait ? What ? You manage to record samples directly in Bilbao and Abu Gadgets ?
How do you do that ?
...On my side I have to pre-record the samples and then load them in these Gadgets... And I thought that one of the big differences that bring the new Gadget would be direct recording...

  • I wonder if they added any new buttons or put old buttons in additional locations. Can't wait.

don't think BM3 is coming in the next week though - is it?

  • quick question: was there a debate if disabling native mode for nanokey studio and setting up midi channels and mapping will revert once gadget is turned off and on? or if i set up a template to start off of each time it will keep my changes?

I would settle for being able to type in a tempo. How on earth do you Gadget gurus input the tempo that you want? I feel like you need the hands of the world's tiniest surgeon.

Not likely but It will be worth the wait, trust me on this one!
The way it's heading it already has my seal of approval.

Just hoping Gadget 3.0 doesn't steal all my 'focus' as I need it for testing... :D

Sorry Samu and LucidMusicInc but even if I am a BM2 lover (as it is the only iOS app allowing to timestrech, pitch shift and chop my samples/loops correctly), I am not very hyped by BM3... I feel like it will be too complicated, trying to do to much at once, oriented towards iAPs... and the announcements of announcement and arrogance of the developpers communications have made me lost all faith in them, I have to admit... For me, it's now all about Korg Gadget ;-)

If you already love BM2 you will easily fall in love again with BM3. It's 'deeper' and a lot easier to use than BM2. Time-Stretch is done in real-time if needed using the Elastiqe V3 engine and the synhesis engine (if needed) put workstations like Roland W30 in the corner of shame... And well, file-management is 'top notch' :)

I have a soft-spot for samples & synthesis and BM3 delivers big-time with modulation options, layers, chopping/slicing and so on... It's totally insane without any real competition on iOS.

So Samu, you managed to be part of the Beta testing ? How did you do man ? I tried to apply and was rejected promptly by someone telling me it was a private and closed beta "not for people like me" lol...

PS : I hope BM3 will be as good as you say... We'll see ;-)

So I guess that makes you a Super Very Important Beta Tester then man ;-)

PS : I admit that knowing that you are currently testing it and find it amazing makes me want to try it now... Even though I'm still very pissed by the way the devs communicate in general (announcements and replies to my mail or requests for beta testing... I don't like being treated like dog sh*t when I'm a potential customer lol).

I have to agree on sh*t treatment from some other 'developers'(no mentions) and I was pleasantly surprised when I was even offered the opportunity to help :)

Just a few more days to go and we'll be getting our hands on Gadget 3.0 and that in turn will be a 'time/focus-distraction' when it comes BM3 testing LOL!

Where I come from, we call that being an intern. But I will concede that you're probably more of a Robert De Niro-giving-life-lessons-to-Anne Hathaway intern....

Yeah! I don't know anyone 'over there' but I guess the way I express my ideas here in the forum sparked some interest :) (I just push my ideas as I usually do and sometimes it bears fruit!).

I see it as an opportunity to be a part of 'shaping the final product' as many of the ideas have already made their way thru. Sure it's a bit 'bumpy ride' but it will get smoother with time...

Considering how relatively 'bug-free' Gadget usually is I can imagine they have quite a load of tester spread across different 'user-types' to nail down potential issues...

Tusday is not that far away, less than a week to Gadget 3.0! :D
(I think it's already 'done' and approved by Apple just waiting for a 'Go' from Korg).

oh, don't get me wrong. i see the value for the devs and i see the value for the potential customers. it's just that my time is too valuable (value is subjective of course). not that any dev is asking (let's not get awkward dev, ...don't ;) ) but if i had requested like @ElGregoLoco and been put off i can see how that would be offensive. "oh, i'm not good enough to work for free to see if i catch a bug you didn't and help you sell more". yeeesh. korg probably pays some super smart japanese kids to catch bugs.

That's one of the reasons I will not waste any more time or energy on anything from a certain company...

And yepp, Korg probably has quite a team testing the apps in various use-case scenarios.
(But I do wonder if the testers are allowed to feed new ideas as it seems that some areas of Gadget have 'stood still' for quite some time, namely the editor and it's cut/copy/paste and modify-selection tools).

Gadget 3.0 will be fun to 'dig-in to' and see how much has changed...
Apart from few new Gadgets I hope to be pleasantly surprised by other areas of the app too :)

You got it right (+ the guys on BM3 website answered in a not very gentle manner lol... Something like "no, we have good beta testers, we don't need you"...). They probably don't even care about the fact that I use BM2 for years, invested time and money in it, praised it and made people buy it in forums such as this one... That's what I call bad customers relationship management lol...
But this is not that important and I really hope that BM3 will be a nice app ;-)

Should come as no surprise but they do A**i branded stuff and some kind of 'virus' for moving sounds from one app to another by forcing them to be stored in some kind container where stuff can be bought...
