Me, I did vote "space is precious", but only because I couldn't select both that and "I don't mind the filesize". Looks like nobody is going for the 5-7gb option, lol.
I've been scrimping and saving up money on the weekly for an iPad Pro 2 with a 9.7" screen (to be purchased whenever Apple releases the hardware), and I'm saving for the one with the highest storage capacity (256gb is the current gen's highest storage capacity, but who knows if 512gb may be in the pipeline?!). As far as I go, you should go full quality and hold nothing back for professional musicians (or use the CAF file format so long as no quality is lost), and you should also have the "low quality" option for the hobbyists just looking to noodle around with some excellent samples. All about the options.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
You need quality to make quality tracks.............. Bring it on!......... Besides, if you are using an iPad for making music, you need a minimum of 64gb of space. My 128gb Air 1 is quite full now. When the next iPad Pro 2 comes out, I will be saving up for the biggest SSD HD space. You need it really. Especially, when you make a lot of projects with Cubasis &a Auria Pro.
Agreed. No more compromises on iOS....
Yes. 256Gb iPad Pro 9.7 Mainly for music...
But it will be iPad only? No iPhone version? I know ,the GUI, but i like it very mobile for my iOS tools.
Not with all of those controls. We will still have the other NeoSoul Keys version in which to use the iPhone on.
ETA?
While you're around @GospelMusicians, whatever happened to leadaliscious?
Go for the quality. make it as big as it needs to be.
@GospelMusicians sorry to insist but...

9 months later, no Program Change, not on Bassalicious,(not even any update at all...and selecting sounds still not very elegant...) not on the actual Neo Soul key either.
Both apps that I love because they have a great sound, but they miss the "pro" label because of lack of this kind of details that never come...
So for me, your next app should be 128 ko I won't buy it. Sorry.
I voted for MAX quality which is what I'd prefer of the three options above. My preferred option would be to be able to switch between the 2GB and the 7GB as needed, optimally I be able to setup with the 2GB and then optimize the instruments I use the most. This is based on my current 64GB iPad. I will upgrade as soon as the new iPads are announced and get a 256GB iPad, after that I expect that the 7GB will be fine for me.
Even with 64GBs in my iPad, I am still currently deleting reinstalling stuff all the time simply to manage space. This is because I am still experimenting with a lot of stuff, if I was recording and producing a lot of stuff instead of playing/learning all the new stuff that comes out then NSKeys would probably be my goto e piano and I would not mine the 7GB at all.
iPad/iPhone memory size is going up and price is coming down. I am really hopping for a 512GB iPad in March with a starting size of at least 64GB. If this happens then I think most everyone (with new devices) would opt for the 7GB version.
Au should be available on the regular neo soul key we invested in as well,....just saying
yeah my vote is for maximum quality. Then get size down as small as possible (without sacrificing quality).
The option to delete and reinstall samples as needed is a good idea I think. Like in Thumbjam for example.
Wow, this is extremely interesting considering how good the current NeoSoul Keys sounds. I would want the full experience, even if 6-7GB or more. I feel so comfortable with the iOS workflow, using Auria Pro, AudioBus, IAA, AUv3, AUM, all the soft synths & drum apps, et al. has become just as effective as a laptop ProTools rig. As a songwriter/musician demoing my songs and using the studio to experiment and write, I don't feel iOS is a compromise at all. If I were recording a guitar, bass, drum rhythm section live then yeah, it sort of clashes with the portable/self contained vibe but hell, with an interface with the right amount of inputs it could be done.
The point is I am personally invested into iOS music production which is why I'll invest in a new iPad with 256GB this year or early part of next which makes the investment into NeoSoul Studio a done deal.
Plus as long as Apple doesn't go all draconian and make it harder to re-download apps from the AppStore cloud then those of us with a 64GB or less iPad can move some apps into storage for awhile to accommodate the larger size of NeoSoul Studio.
Really looking forward to it...you can see from your YouTube videos (which I've copped some cool spread fingered chords from) that you guys love music and are passionate about your apps and getting quality sounds out to those who need and appreciate them.
Be cool...
Hmmm, 7GB does seem kind of big. Not sure I'd be willing to delete enough other apps and maps etc on my 128GB devices, which tend to fill up way too quickly. I'd say give us the option to download the HD samples after installing and make the initial install size 2GB if possible.
I will never download an iPad app with 2 GB filesize or even more. For me, there is no essential difference between 2 GB filesize and 7 GB filesize - both options are part of the "no-no-land" on my iPad.
On the other hand i know, for some of the customer the filesize of a very good app is not important - they would even buy an additional iPad if the app is good enough!
My advice: Go for the 7 GB version!
(and additionally make a VERY small one with a very reduced price and soundset with 200 MB filesize)
You could put out a special cut down version that has only one note.
There is almost no way, I can make a good electric piano with just 200 MB. That's just too small.
With the release of the Crudebyte Colossus e-piano which weighs in at 7gb, you really have no choice but to release the hi-res version. Maybe release the low res version as a lower cost upgrade to the original NeoSoul Keys (which I own and love)?
Your software is a serious musical instrument not a toy so serious musicians will have iPads with more space. At low res there are tons of choices for e-piano samples (and synths as well!).
As a counterweight, I will probably NOT buy the Colossus because it's just too colossal.
We will have a solution.......
We will allow users to download the EPs they want to be able to control their own size
. That way if you only want certain EPs, then you get the ones you love without weighing down the iPad.
haha, but their e-pianos aren't that collossal in my opinion. Neither in size (1.6 GB for 17 instruments) nor price nor sound. They are no real competition for the current Neo Soul, let alone the new one that is coming -- except perhaps, that they are auv3.
Good and straightforward solution ...
by the way, it would be nice if you gave the current Neo Soul the auv3 treatment as well ...
Agreed.
Glad to read this!
We won't make any new libraries from now on without AUv3. Won't happen....
Furthermore, we MAY have figured out a way to reward existing users with Crossgrades within the iOS ecosystem.
Does this mean mksensation and FMTines could make it to iOS?
We could swing FMTines soon![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)

I've come across an issue that might affect future streaming plugins. To export a GarageBand project you have close it and go to the My Songs view to do an offline render.
Since the project is closed it doesn't have time to load the streaming instrument - so GB just barrels through and renders the project with the streaming instrument m.i.a --- popping in later in the timeline.
Hopefully Neo Soul Studio won't have this issue. Is there a way to tell the host not to begin offline rendering until the plugin is ready?
