Yeah I agree it is a fanstastic synth and I was always wanting this synth to support AU on iOS because additive synthesis is one of my favourite forms of synthesis alongside FM. It was a dream come true when Virsyn finally released this as a AU on iOS.
It is great that nearly all the synthesis forms are supported in AU on iOS with my favourite iOS synths like Phasemaker (FM synthesis), Poison-202 (Virtual analog synthesis), Addictive Pro (additive synthesis) and PPG Wavemaker (Wavetable synthesis)
Well, I fired up MIDISteps to try out the new update and found that I was lacking in AU synths. This seems the strongest contender, and I do love my @VirSyn synths, so another purchase done. Late for work again and hoping I get some time to play with this some time soon but initial experience is very exciting. AU really brings a lot to the dinner plate for iOS music making.
Yeah this is the big one for me....sayonara desktop!
I dont get the impression that ableton link works within au for reslice and addictive pro?. Both ARPS running in AUM
AUv3's use 'clock' from the host, so AUM feeds the clock to the AUv3's.
I do miss the option set arpeggiator 'timing deviations' in the AUv3 but I guess that is by design?!
Also the AUv3's way to edit he arpeggiator is way better than the 'stand alone' app.
Easier to set which key to use in AUv3 (instead of tap, tap, tap until correct value is shown that needs to be don in the 'app', things like that).
It's good to see another useable AUv3!
(I would use iSEM AUv3 more but the load-time is killing me!!!).
Aaaaaah just seemed a bit "off"
Ditto. I had to delete it to protect myself from it

I'm having a lot of fun with the Addictive update - it is a bit buggy still, it plays up a bit in AUM, but coupled with ReSlice, Patterning and some cement mixer samples I'm having a whale of a time:
Nice![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
yeah reslice is definitely a big missing part of the ios puzzle for me, particularly as its an AU so you can use it in multiple ways.
Key Hold doesn't seem to do anything. Am I doing it wrong?
I had this initially, but then I changed patch and it worked....a little odd.
Thanks. Hasn't worked yet, trying a restart.
Yeah, just tried it again. Opened, hit 'key hold', no joy, changed patch and worked fine...
Thanks matey. Yeah ReSlice fits in really nicely into my AUM setup, a much better fit than Samplr and Egoist. Having a load of apps with the same arp allows for loads of tweaking on the fly, with everything staying in sync. Loads of fun.
Restart seems to have fixed it. The odd patch doesn't seem to allow it though, possibly a feature.
Ok, ignore that previous post, rebooted and AU's working ok now. Weird.
It's pretty CPU dependent before AU and my Air 1 crackled at times but I'd like to hear from those with the newer hardware.
It went to over 90% for me (Air2) earlier, with three instances running, and crackled like mad - plus controls and screen's weren't opening when clicked. Relaunched everything with the same settings and that time stayed at around 60%.
I love the app in standalone, but seems a bit flaky (as is ReSlice) in AU mode.
I think there's a bug in the AU that can spike the CPU when more than one instance is used
