What exactly isn't working for you? Something was introduced in 10.2? I hadn't noticed that. If you can be more specific I can do a test here. Thanks.![:+1: :+1:](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/+1.png)
Well i am ip and running. Still fiddly, but i am pushing limits with amount of apps and connections. Got crackly at one point but who know where or why. Rebooted ipad and all was good.
@vpich increase the buffers. Also. Keep the number of samples on both systems identical to avoid crackles. Eh:- iPad at 256 samples so Mac also at 256 samples. The card can use differing number of samples but it's more stable when you keep them identical.
Oh. and avoid using network midi. you have hardware midi assignments over usb1/usb2. just use that instead. there's a bug with macosx when you use it. besides. the hardware midi has less latency. so why use an inferior system anyways ?![:p :p](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/tongue.png)
it only happened once and i was running gadget (with one instance of lexington), model 15, troublemaker, midi link sync, all through aum. so it might be overreaching. testing various configurations of midi to link or link to midi (my ableton copy is link-less plus i am incorporating the op-1). best case so far is to have ableton as master, plug the op1 directly into usb on computer and then convert midi to link in ipad, which drives everything there. didn't think about differing buffers, will make sure all that runs at same. good call.
link to midi gives me a little more trust than midi to link though, at least looking at the display on midi link sync, numbers are constantly correcting themselves. will probably upgrade to link ableton.
anyways, busy busy setting up an ableton template and aum, etc. so that when inspiration strikes i can just create.
So i take it you aren't thinking of giving up on the iconnectaudio4+ now ?
you might want to change the topic title a bit now lol.
EDIT:- oh lol. you beat me to it![:p :p](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/tongue.png)
i did, you missed it![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
I'm pretty sure everything's been fixed at this point. The only issue that seems to still exist is if you use network midi. Which would be pointless since you have near latency free hardware midi ports between both the devices...
@gonekrazy3000 there's also the bug concerning the names of the devices that are not reinitialized on iPad into the apps. (It's okay with their app or soft, but, that's it...)
They also spoke recently, and announced on their website an issue concerning artefacts while using the 6 inputs or output, can't remember...
To be fair I purposely kept the names as hst1-8 so never realised it was a problem. On desktop I reserved the slots to specific midi controllers so whenever I plugin say my keystudio88es it always is hst3. My kboards being hst1-2, my remote zero ports being host 5-7 and my launchcontrolxl being hst8. So even if the names never update it doesn't matter to me.
Well I kept the prefix HST-1->8 but, added names of the device, fortunately cos with the iPad it becomes a nightmare...
But I made a table with equivalents:
Arturia-HST1- now is BCR2000-HST1
BCR2000-HST2 now is Arturia-HST2
etc...
And if I changed the order on the hub, that's for a good reason, so I can't go back...
It's quite touchy while you assign a controller to one of the 4 instance of Turnado, while you also share the same midi channel to use one channel to control all controllers transversally...Some sharing, some not.
And here I must say that support is very evasive...
Ah, there's also the bug of the usb host port that crash, then, no midi controllers...Funny one...
If you reset your ipad (but keep all content) the names do update. I just wished they'd shorten the prefix name to iCA4+
@Carnbot could you explain how I do reset without loosing my content ?...
in settings: general, reset (at the bottom). then "reset all settings" there's another option for erasing all content and settings. So make sure not to do that one. I always back up my essential stuff anyway before doing it just in case but I haven't lost any files from it so far.
make sure you're not connected to the ica4 when you reset. Restart iCA4, then reconnect ipad when it's finished resetting and it should show your renamed ports.
you'll have to enter all your wifi stuff etc again so there's a bit of extra legwork too
Ok thanks I'll try that tomorrow !![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
This:
http://www.iconnectivity.com/faq-page/iconnectaudio4/126#t126n295
I haven't experienced that however. So, it may depend on how it's being used.
Strange. I have used 6 outputs with no issue whatsoever with my iPad....
Yes, yes, 1000 times yes.
@Carnbot THANKS !!!!!!![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
It works perfectly ! I just don't understand why support told me that...
Be aware that it alsobreak all your midi links (Midiflow, Modstep etc...)
So it's a bit more than wifi, but now I know !!!
Yes definitely worth doing if you have an amount of hardware connected![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Yes I forgot that all your previous midi connections would be reset but I guess that's unavoidable since it's resetting the ports. I don't know why iConnectivity don't fix this in an update, unless it's only an iOS issue.
This is what they told me. IOS issue.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
But that's really ok, know I know what is what...
Any ideas on how to set up the ICA4+ for this scenario...
DAW is Logic Pro X and using Different Drummer for midi in, although any multi-track midi app could be substituted, and have instruments connected to the ICA4+ host port. I also want to use 1-4 of the audio inputs. My biggest hurdle seems to be isolating all the midi between Different Drummer and the host devices in Logic, and I suspect it means getting to know Logic's midi environment better. I can get DD to drive channels, but it is also triggers the channels I intend to be for the host devices only and vice versa. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
@funjunkie27 not sure to really understand your issue, but, as far as I understand, if you received midi datas that you don't want on your local midi plugins, inside Logic, it's mainly because your local synths received on the same midi channel, or are set to omni, and vice versa.
Just make sure each synth is listening to a separate midi channel. You have Access to 16 separate channels over usb1/usb2 port. Thats enough for 16 different vsts.....
Thanks folks...I think the problem is related to the midi ports presented by the ICA4+ and not knowing how to select them within LPX. In the midi environment, I can select inputs, instruments, etc., per track, but nothing I select shows the port names of the ICA4+. I've gotten it to work using the instrument setting, but it has been hit or miss, and it some of those instances I get some channels triggered by midi which aren't intended, and yes, I have midi channels mapped discretely, but they still trigger unintended instruments.
Hmm...Make screen shots of your audio routing and buses.
Reset to factory settings.
Remap audio.
Keep it simple.
Voilà...
Save your preset, then play with midi routing from there if you really need it...Check each modification one by one to see what's really going on...
Thanks again @crony. I'm going to hit it again later this afternoon, so I'll keep your tips in mind.
i wish i could help you but i'm actually heading out on a roadtrip right now and will be probably off the grid for 4 days. when i get back if its still not working i will try and sort things out for you![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Thanks...enjoy the trip!
so, had been away from my studio since i got this all working and then today nothing worked. computer states that it's downloading new firmware and nothing happens. maybe i just have a mental block and want things to be easier but if i have 20 minutes to work on music i want to do that, not configure shit. just listed it locally.
er. there hasn't been a firmware update since last year.... you can just cancel the firmware download message and go on to the config. But i guess you've already given up. I tried shrugs. good luck in your future projects.
Incase you're wondering why it forever tries to download a new firmware i found this on their site:-
Version 1.1.1 - Dec. 2, 2016
Do not use: An error was discovered in this firmware version. We are trying to resolve ASAP. If you already updated and need to downgrade, please refer to manual firmware loading procedure and use this file (1.1.0). Feel free to submit a support ticket if you need assistance. Apologies for inconvenience.
so basically they recalled a buggy firmware. like i said you can just skip the download with a click.
