I can't blame you for giving up. I've tried to replace my Akai mpk mini with its spongy keyboard several times but I've always gone back to it as it gave me no issues at all, true plug and play.
Before the kids I'd have whole days to fiddle with cables and software. Now I operate from a shoe box. Time scarcity shouldn't be underestimated.
Good luck with your quest.
Sorry to hear.
I have 2 ICA4s, and haven't had to touch anything on either of them since I got my initial defaults set. I just know that once we got past Apple's clock issues in ios9, they've been rock solid for me.
Understand about just wanting things to work when you need them to, though.
@rad3d I too have 1 ICA4+ and absolutely love it. I mess with the settings all the time, for different things and never had any issues. Well except that Thor doesnt seem to scroll and show all the available midi devices. The prefix on the names could be a little bit shorter but other than that, I feel its rock solid.
I just recorded a couple of songs for my buddy yesterday and it worked like a charm. Of course we were not doing anything crazy, just guitar, piano and vocals.
