Perfect response!
But no 'Link to the Past' (ie. Midi-Out)
Jajaja. Honestly...I don't get it
, some video game reference?
Link is the main character from nintendos game, Zelda!
My dog's name is Link.
Link Wray.....sadly an ex-wray
Ohhhhhh, didn't knew that. in that case korg has the upper hand, link it's included for free, in the switch case it's sold separately.
Yeah, it's a bit pricey. On the other hand I think people have gotten a bit spoiled by Logic, which is massively underpriced.
As a sketchpad I expect Gadget to be better than Logic, since the Logic sequencer is a typical PITA whereas Gadget is tap tap win.
But... the thing I am really excited about is Akai's MPC Live. It's 5x the price so no chance of getting it until Christmas but it looks to be all about the flow, just like Gadget. No futzing around with configurations, plugins, cables, wifi, bluetooth midi keyboards, just making beats.
It's funny, I feel like I've gotten spoiled by Gadget precisely because it's so easy to use, plus I had a tough time getting off the ground with Logic because (to me, at least) it's so dadgum complicated - which is why I had been looking forward to seeing what Gadget was gonna offer on OS X.
But because I got put off by Korg delaying its release, I picked up Logic again, and while it's still nowhere near as easy to use as Gadget, I am finding more and more to like about it every time I explore it. I really hope I end up resisting the urge to buy Gadget for OS X, especially if it is priced as advertised.
One of the good aspects of LPX is that you can use what little one knows about it, and it still does the job, then learn a bit more or a new thing about it, and it still does the job, plus a bit, and so on. At the very least one can use it almost as if it is a GarageBand, and know almost nothing more than that and still get stuff done. The rest can remain under wraps until another day.
The Nintendo DS has the Korg DS-10 app, maybe there will be an enhanced Switch version....
What is a gadget?
LOL are you joking?! Do you need someone to Google that for you?

Well put- this describes my experience getting re-acquainted with Logic. A little bit more discovery each time I open it up.
Looks cool.
Oh dear. I sense a Mac acquisition. Maybe Christmas I suppose...
I love Mac, made the switch from Windows like 7 years ago. Got a new MacBook Pro about a year and a half ago, best machine I've ever had. But beware- friend of mine just got one of the newest latest, the kind with the touchbar, and he does not like it - apparently it does not have USB ports, which seems kinda nuts to me...
Zinger Of The Day. applauds
Think I made a joke a while ago about Netflix getting Link but this one has more zing.
Gadget= Gizmo
Gizmo= Gadget
Hope this helps
Everything's switching to USB-C. Apple wasn't even the first to ship a machine with USB-C only. You can use adapters for older stuff. I've actually been waiting for USB-C before buying a new laptop, as I don't buy them often, want something ready for the foreseeable future. USB-C has benefits beyond a smaller connector. LIke being able to move more power over the wire. So faster charging of devices plugged into the laptop. Also the laptop can use it the other way around to charge itself. No more proprietary charging ports on laptops. That's great in the long run. But yeah, the transition is going to make the death of the floppy look quaint.
Thanks both. Sufficiently scary to make me think that maybe Christmas 2017 might be another good year for socks and bongos, a ways off yet.
@JohnnyGoodyear Do not purchase a laptop. With your music app trigger finger, if you were to step up to the pricey peaks of the desktop world, socks and bongos may be all you're left with.
I dunno, I get the feeling that if @JohnnyGoodyear buys a Mac so he can get his hands on Logic, Apple are bound to release Logic for iOS a week or so later, so he could be doing us all a favour here.
As the thread is now a Switch / Gadget tread... I just want say 'Thanks so much for the Switch and Zelda BotW Nintendo... It is so gooooood, I almost forgot that I was waiting for a delayed korg Gadget update'... Seriously guys, it's that good, probably the best gaming experience I had in the past decade...
Get a second hand Macbook Pro - my mid-2012 non SSL handles Logic pretty well - the latest OSX releases are slowing thing's down a bit, but I can upgrade the drive for a hundred quid and quadruple the speed.
For recording live instruments and vocals it's a powerful thing - I use it for band stuff, recording bass and guitar whatnot, and I'll be using it on stage as well for a bit of Alchemy keyboard magic.
This game is going to potentially take months to complete. Loving it
Wishing I had a horse though, my poor little legs are getting tired LOL
Passing the time nicely while waiting for Gadget 3.0 to appear
We're still waiting for our Switch.... They claim it was delivered last friday, but it wasn't, so now it's going to be at least another ten days while Nintendo "investigate" their fuck-up....
