well, I'm all for being content with less but you'll be happy to know you actually have both 2GB ram and 4k vid on the SE!

Yes! That's why I went for it. Was less money than the 6s, but as far as I can tell... the only difference is the front-facing camera of the 6s is higher res. I'm not into selfies so that didn't matter to me.
Now I'm in the middle of realizing how many apps I don't even use while I'm waiting for the restore. Need to do some housekeeping and delete a bunch of old apps I think.
Agree regarding the rose color: my (Tech21) case shows 0% of the 6s itself aside from the face / screen.
Ha, I got a gold SE new although I would have preferred silver or space gray but they were sold out. Just get a nice case for it and it's alright.
Coming from an iPhone 5S as a daily beater I enjoy the bigger screen on the iPhone 7. Having said that, I really do miss being able to comfortably use the entire screen with a single hand. Double-tapping the home button to scroll down doesn't quite cut it and I dislike using both hands for simple actions I previously did with just a thumb.
Wow I did t know my SE has 2 gig of ram? No wonder it feels so much smoother than my Air 1.
@skiphunt I scored a great deal on an Otterbox case for my SE. Has really nice protection. First thing I would really recommend bro is to go to cell store on the mall or wherever and install a screen protector. Forgot what they're called but it's a glass thicker than plastic and really does he job. I got one called 9x or something and wow what a difference. Then I put it in the Ottorbox defender case and it feels super solid and protected.

@brambos yes, exactly. If I didn't have an iPad, I'd likely get a bigger iPhone. But, I'm trying to be more thoughtful about how I'm actually using tech, rather than what my consumer desire dictates. I'd love to have a brand new iPhone 7, but the reality is... I use an iphone as a "daily beater" as you described. I don't spend a lot of time browsing with it or engaged with much creative pursuit like I do with the iPad. I keep it on me for phone calls, texts, quick browse for info I might need, a bit of news updates, etc. For the quickie use, I like being able to use it with one hand and then put it back into my pocket (and try not to lay it underneath the open hood of my car)![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
I don't really mind the loss of the headphone jack on the 7 all that much, but I didn't want to have to keep track of yet another connector, or have to pay attention to keeping yet another device charged all the time.
Don't really even need the iPhone SE that I just bought, but there have been times when I've been caught without a camera and wanted to get a fleeting shot. And, wished my iPhone had a higher resolution camera that could get better print-worthy stills, and 4k video. All considered, the SE is the best choice for me right now.
@Musikman4Christ Yes, it appears the SE did get 2GB of ram. That was one of the deciding factors for me, along with the faster processor, 12mp camera and 4K video. I'd also started to get messages that some new updates of apps wouldn't install because my iPhone 5 was no longer supported. It was time to upgrade. Wonder if I subconsciously smashed my iPhone 5 intentionally in order to hack around all of the over-analzying I always do before every purchase? lol
I had an Otterbox once. They're very solid, but I didn't like the way it didn't slip in/out of the pocket so easily. That said, I bet an Otterbox might've survived the car hood slam.. but, I might've been shopping for a bent car hood repair instead of a new iPhone. Bet a whole car hood would've still been cheaper than a new iphone though.![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Used to use screen protectors all the time, but haven't in the last few years. I'm rough on phones and have still never scratched a screen. I like the little bit of extra screen sensitivity you get without a screen protector. thx for the link though.
That being said... the phone I bought already has a screen protector on it. Just found out it's a tempered glass screen protector. Supposed to be the best. Trying to decide if I'm going to remove it or not: https://www.bodyguardz.com/apple/bodyguardz-pure-glass-apple-iphone-se-cases-screen-protectors-covers-shields-skins-films.html
Yeah tempered glass protector is what I got and it is perfect that I carefully removed the screen protector that came built in to my otterbox defender case and so far it has withstood falls directly on cement steps down to TMJ metro station. So glad I bought this case and tempered screen protection.
For me I hardly put the SE in my pocket, I put it on the clip that came with the car works like a charm.
I'll likely leave the tempered glass protector on. I still have an old Otterbox from an iPhone 4. It's a good case for sure, but I put my phone into a holder on my motorcycle, to use as a GPS and it was too much of a pain taking it out of the Otterbox all the time. I also put my phone in a waterproof pouch around my neck while jogging. Never found a good arm band that didn't slip too much. So, I'm putting my iphone in and out of pockets, pouches, and other cases all the time. Otterbox doesn't work so well in that scenario, but likely the best protection out there.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
