    Poison 202 is quite fun.

    +1
PPG synths : Incredible, legendary but underrated
Moog And Korg stuff : I bought an iPad only for them
    TF7-8 , FM4 , phasemaker,Phase84 : love the fm'80 s spirit
Magellan with xy pads and all his options ( probably the most complete synth)
LayR: epic but not fond of the gui
Arturia And virsyn stuff : great choice of good synth
Indie UFO synths : zedsynth, SpringSound, NS1, NLog ,synthQ, BitWiz,DaOne, DRC ,Eera , enkl, iTuttle,iVCS3 , etc ...i love them all as an app's collector :)

  • I noticed that Poseidon Synth is on sale right now? Looks pretty wicked. Can anyone confirm that it has a fine tune dial?

    … very small knob …

    Sounds familiar

  • Now I use DRC, I prefer it to sunrizer that I have used before.
I don't like too much nave and animoog. And Magellan is too digital.
Im1 by the way is fundamental

  • All the usual ones have already been mentioned....but don't forget the built in synth in ModStep, it is greatly underestimated....and GM Synth from FL Mobile and Groove Machine Mobile as well is pretty handy.....

If we're including built in synths, Micrologue is amazing.

Shit i have to buy DRC now! I have overlooked it...

  • NS1 (love the easy tweaking), Photophore, Mersenne, Cubasis synth, Isem, Sunrizer, Magellan, Redshrike, Poseidon, Ipulsaret, LaPlace, Addictive pro.

Have some more synths, but most are too complex for my patience and they don't have a randomize button. :)

DRC does have a really nice sound, one that I use very rarely for some reason....I have no reason why though, just don't.

This is true.....for some unknown reason though, when I use Micrologue I always end up with near as damnit the same sound each time..must be something to do with the layout or my laziness.

  • My current favorite is Korg M50 followed by Nave.

A lot great ones but my vote goes to Mitosynth too.
The only iOS synth i can't replace with any desktop tool i found.

    Sound design dream

Exactly. I just created an awesome soundscape within a few minutes and thought that it had taken me 10X more time in some of my bigger synths.
    I love Mitosynth :)

Does it have a fine tune dial and does it ever go on sale?

You mean microtuning? Like importing .tun files?
    Sadly, no!

Nah just a simple, global +/- 50 cents dial.

I just spotted that EHX Mini Synthesizer has fine tuning capability so I might give that a whirl. Anyone got any opinions on it?

When i initially bought it I liked the sound, although it seemed initially limited it was unique and very quick to dial in.....The problem with it was that you couldn't send virtual MIDI to it......this has since been added but I still don't use it....Is this an example of where a function missing at release has put a mental block on it for me perhaps ?

  • Animoog
    DRC
    iSEM
    Mersenne
    Odyssei

Need to dig deeper into Lay:R as well as I reckon it could be pretty sweet. Needs midi out though for a performance synth. At the moment you get value jumps when you try and use a midi controller with it after changing from patch to patch.

  • I like all my synths it's hard to choose :)

  • Magellan, iM1

  • I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Oscillator yet.

  • Most fun- I Am Synth

really nice synth though, very limited but extremely easy to use and lovely design.
but they claimed it had auv3 capabilities on release but still haven't managed to actually deliver it ...

It is particularly good for strong riffs and leads.

    Eden (NanoStudio) is great too!

  • I am scared to buy Nave because it's not 64 bit.

Well, a new wavetable synth seems to be right around the corner...That being said, Nave is awesome!

    Finaly!

  • iM1
Addictive Pro - great sounds, very easy to tweak and the great virsyn arp
Wavemapper and Wavegenerator - very underrated. Desktop quality synths from the master himself
Troublemaker - my go to bass synth
Micrologue - again very underrated synth
NS1 - so incredibly easy to get great sounds from and an AU
    Audulus - endless possibilities
Zmors modular - as above with a different workflow but has AU hosting
Model 15 - only got it recently but it's a beast
Nave - love everything about this. I will be very sad if it doesn't get updated to 64bit but it's reason enough to keep an old ipad so i can still use it
    Enkl
    Poison 202
    Sunrizer
    TF8

iSEM would be there if it didn't take forever to load

  • no worries, Nave is 64 Bit
