Good info here mister. Like young Skip I'm interested in these, but looks like the best plan is to wait for a stable update to CSSpectral.

Money here waiting for you Mr Developer.

I can understand your current reticence as a result of the issues, but I'm very surprised you don't have a fully stocked Boulangerie.....would of thought his stuff would be all the way up your canal and out the other side...

It is Boss but lack of updates, demos, and the fact it's twenty quid have held my horses. Plus I have a stable full of similar ponies. To be honest I'd forgotten about it, but revisiting the few demos and this thread have reminded me how unique it is.

I'm at a bit of a crossroads musically - the band I'm in are demanding more of my time, which I can't really give them as I have other commitments, and need to try and make some cash, somehow - the painting thing might replace my normal work - delivering pics for a big exhibition today...so.....may drop out of the band, but still need to scratch that musical itch. So maybe, if they update CSSpectral and don't break it, I'll dive in and get back to the soundscapes and cows. I'm too old to be strutting around a stage with a bass guitar anyhow.

Do you use this much? Any examples? Does it work in AUM AB?

Needs an update no doubt and TODAY I wouldn't say you have to have it. BUT it is a primo thing in terms of reach and grasp. Perhaps wait until you've climbed back a little further up the hill and find yourself sitting there slightly fat again and in need of a distractive bonbon....

I didn't know you painted?! Can you pm me a link to your work?

Your post rung true for me. I'm not in a band, nor do I play anything, but I do feel the need to move back into some of my core competencies, while keeping the audio itch scratched from time to time.

I'll likely get csSpectral if they update it with a rock solid versioin. These reports of what sounds like a very buggy csGrain give me pause though. Overall... on hold for the moment.

Yeah me too - will be interested in buying an updated, bug free version.

Yeah I paint on and off. Work's dead at the moment so just knocked out 20 paintings for an exhibition to see if that can raise a few shekels. I love it, if it takes off I'd happily do it full time. Not sure you'd like my stuff, it's pretty safe and chocolate boxey - nothing like my weird music.

I can wait - got the Egoist update to play with now, that'll keep me busy for a few days.

Not kidding on the Egoist. Was doubting it would happen, glad it did.

  • So after some playing on the new ipad, if I run csSpectral first I can then get it working in AB in AUM (but not Cubasis). Stability wise it was pretty darn good. I just went for well over an hour with csSpectral recording in AUM, something I don't recall being ale to do on my Air1. csGrain on the other-hand can freeze up within a couple minutes.

Were you running apps through it Gus, or a live input?
