I personally like what Daft Punk did with Tron Legacy soundtrack. They captured this incredible synthesizer vibe from the 70s-80s so well!

I may as well reveal that this particular track has been highly influential to me over the decades – not from the electronic music point of view, but the lyrics.
(The original version, not the crap re-written updated version)

I’ve met Halim El-Dabh and some of my old circles of friends were friends with him, though I didn’t know he was an early pioneer in electronic music until later on. This is definitely old style on wire tape.

oh wow, this is amazing
every time this thread pops up, for a split second.. i think "oh wow, cool, there are actually other people who are into old electronic music - maybe I'm not alone and there are other people out there who like the "good stuff"!
...and then I realize that by "old" they're referring to 90's techno.
I guess I am alone after all. But I like music from the 1600's too. so "old" is really a matter of perspective.
I like the really old techno. when it was good and weird. by the 90's it mostly became so boring imo except for the really noisy stuff. I mean some of it's ok.. but never gonna top the masters.
