Tangent but when you think about BM3, GrooveRider, AudioLayer and NS2 all coming out in the last couple of years, you realise just how far the iPad has come as a fully fledged sampler/DAW/groovebox in a short space of time. It feels like we are close to really tying up some loose ends being very well served with a choice of iOS sampling workflows.

    Exactly,
that's why I bought a surface pro instead of a new iPad

Lol. For Kontakt sampler? And what’s the BM3 equivalent on Windows? Is there an iMPC or Maschine pad banger VST? Genuinely interested.

There are many options such as Geist2 ,Bitwig ,Ableton ,maschine ,mpc software . For pads only there is One Small Clue Poise, but it's been a long time since I was looking at vsts.
For freeware tx16wx sampler remains top.

No more comments from me about the RIP BM3 app.
And BeatHawk was my hope for kontakt quality libraries, but is limited to very nice-but-mobile sounds.
Audiolayer is great but no auto sampling ,so I started (surprise) writing my own sfz sampler , to automatically sample AU/VST/hardware stuff.

StageLight is my only hope to iOS, and once it gets

    • a full featured sampler
    • launcpad/apc style hardware support I will heavily invest money.

I was talking about DAWs, since there are great effects, grooveboxes in iOS :)
