The only other thing I'm concerned about is the latency.

You are justified with your concerns. BM3 is quite late.

I have to see what this app looks like before I considering get MPC live. I feel like it will do exactly what I need...I just need some intimate alone time with it lol.

Went to a friends studio in LA and he had the mpc live. He was showing it off to all his producer buddies. They all were like wow thats cool. I pulled out my iPad pro and showed them I had over 70 synthesizers 4 DAWS with Audio units and they lost the fu!@ing minds lol. Needless to say he kicked me out lol . JK but he was salty he paid all that money and I blew him out of the water with my music and gear.

  • My fear is: release date delay -> much powerful hardware needed.

  • If the developers are reading this thread maybe you guys could release some teaser videos?

  • chuckles

  • Rest assured they are keeping an eye on all the activities on this forum ;)

  • @Intua if you're really keeping an eye on this forums, please gives us a quick video.

  • Beta testers, how CPU/battery hungry is this overall?
    Compared to Gadget.

Excellent question! I'm very curious as well. Gadgets sucks me dry!

Lmao this is why I have held off on my purchase. My pro is also jam packed with apps and I can't justify the purchase. I guess I save almost $2000 (CAD).

It all depends on how much effects, disk-streaming & real-time time-stretching you need to use.
You can enable/disable disk-streaming and stretch on per sample basis.
The stretch-engine is not the 'slice-trigger/rex-type' variety...
...It uses some elastique stuff from zplane to do it's magic.

The audio-buffer can be set between 64 and 1024.

With the being said it is possible to make the AIr 2 'crawl' even when using 1024 buffer but it's really pushing it.

For 'normal' usage it's a very fast and smooth ride :)

    Thanks @Samu. Sounds reasonable.
Gadget is eating too much battery on my Pro 9.7. Setting it at 1024 doesn't even change that...

Gadget eats battery on anything but I still love it, good source for 'samples' hehe.
The buffer is mainly for latency I'm not super sensitive to that so I keep most my apps at 256...
Pictures don't do it justice. The UI of BM3 'super-lubed' running at a constant 60 frames per second :)

True, same on my iPhone SE. But it shouldn't on these recent devices.
I have the feeling Korg did some strange things with the coding. When I play polyphonic in ODYSSEi and iWavestation my iPad stays cold and no extreme battery drain. As soon as I open up one of the gadgets (even the basic ones) and do the same it's a different story.
Annoys me to the point that I'm looking for a new 'all in one' :( Hence my interest in BM3.

  • It's sounding great, but with all the feature requests being bandied about, I have tempered my expectations.
As @kobamoto said in the MPC Live thread: "bm2 has all of these great features but I never felt like making music in it cause it felt like opening up a daw, and I love daws for 'recording'... I hate daws for making music, don't want to feel like I'm writing in one."

I just want BM3 to be a great sample editor with playable pads and — you know, be everything that iMPC should be. I don't need another DAW.

Aye, cap'n. That's what we need right there.

  • Hey everyone,

Reading all this feedback and interest around BM3 is truly heartwarming!

The funny thing is that we're currently shooting the video trailer :o
Hang on a little more; in the meantime I'd be happy to answer your questions.

Thanks to everyone supporting us, as a small "indie" company, it's not always easy to handle the amount of questions we receive!

    Cheers!
    Mathieu.

  • Thanks for stopping by. This release is going to rock the IOS music world! We're so glad to have the privilege to be part of it. Wishing you all much success!

    Now, can you realease tomorrow? :# :p :D <3 o:) <3

    Hey @mathieugarcia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Release_early,_release_often ;)
kidding, hang in their guys. will buy as soon as it comes out!

  • Hey @huphtur! Definitely agree with that philosophy!

We use Agile internally and plan to provide frequent and regular updates to keep the app tidy. Since the installation size won't be as massive as BM2, this won't be cumbersome for our users :-)

    Cheers!

  • Hi @mathieugarcia ,
Release Date , price ? (I already know the "it's too soon" answer but can't resist asking :) )

That's great news. So this means we're almost at the finish line.

  • @mathieugarcia I don't have any questions. From all the pictures I've been drooling at, I see everything I need and more has been covered. Awesome work! I'm just patiently waiting (not really) like everyone else. I am definitely looking forward to that video trailer :) :)

  • What's the status of the iPhone version, will it be available at launch or will that come later? Heard some conflicting things about this online, so I was hoping you could clarify.
