@skiphunt your point as to price/likely sales is well taken and fair. To be honest this style or output reminds me too much of experimental stuff I made years ago because it was the best my kit at the time could manage. BUT -as mentioned elsewhere recently- while I am a devotee of iOS for music, I do very little with it for video, preferring the reach and precision of Premiere on the desktop etc when it comes to editing (moving) images.

Agreed. Like I mentioned, I think I'm a bit more enamored with Takate's GUI design, than it's actual output. It's impressive in how the audio and video interfaces intermesh while playing the app's image and audio loops live.

I think LumaFusion will eventually get us both where we'd like to be on iOS with regard to video art production on par with the desktop world, but I think they're concretely focussed on nailing the foundation of an absolute solid "pro" bread & butter editor first. After that, I think they'll start expanding out the audio/video fx toys a lot more.

If you haven't got the video app Hyperspektiv yet, I can recommend it for cool effects stuff on iOS. It looks like a kiddies tool for instagram, but many of the effects are actually decent. You can import up to 4k video, add effects, and export back out as 4k. My tests looked pretty good. And, it has a very easy and clean GUI.

Ooh I like that. There are loads of great cheap photo fx apps, but few for videos - this looks just the ticket.

Do you get all the filters with the app, or are there IAP's?

I don't recall any IAPs. Everything came with it... can't swear to the 4k support though. Seems like a did a test where 4k worked, but the description says up to 1080p, so I could be mistaken about that part.

@vpich all the filters can be used with straight application, but most have varying degrees of parameter control too.

Looks like a great quick and dirty way of creating trippy visuals, that can then be imported into LumaFusion for more precise editing. Reckon I'll get this.

It's a phone app - does it work ok on a pad?

Yes... it's not an official ipad layout, but works fine.

Seeing this one (another masterful Parallax Corp. personality inventory) makes me ponder what wonders you might make in Takete...

    +1

Have you got Takete Mr G?

I do. It's really a marvel. It's getting me back into movie-making, animation...which is no small thing after a 17 year hiatus.

I've always lusted after it, but it's a bit pricey for me.

    Have you uploaded anything?

That's the next hurdle. Made a couple little sketches but 17 years of inertia has kept me from uploading (so far).

We men still on the fence will appreciate your example(s) etc.

Schools out for me soon, we'll see what the summer brings. :)

    Is that you?

  • Back on Loadker ;) Anyone else buy this and have some feedback? :)

See (far) above. But 24 hours later I'm pleased I did. Enough variation (but not TOO crazy if you don't want it to be) so I can take (say) a five second vocal sample and get it spat back at me in a way that I can immediately use. Link is the key here (for me). A good addition to the sporran.

got it and tried it out briefly, syncs nicely with link not blown away but seems cool will probably only use it as seasoning , adding glitchines to a regular beat imported some percussive samples and the results were meh, have not tried importing vocal snippets, seems that is more the ticket

Hmm. Don't feel wise enough to say. No doubt you could get the same through Sector, but I never would. Too much fiddling. This feels like catch (insert sample) and release (let it find its way...). Def. a condiment, not a full meal, but one I will actually put on the table and use....

I like to take a regular beat into blocks wave, go into slice mode, make 3 of the 4 quadrants mostly regular beat, and then random slice-up the 4th quadrant. Sounds like it has a regular beat with occasional glitch tossed in.

More or less the same outcome with LoadKer? Or, is there some extra magic going on with that "fractal" stuff?

I've just powered it up once (wish it was universal) but the best thing is that it seems totally random, so you start it and let it play. But honestly for my uses xynthesizer into a glitch set in bilbao and then some
Automation with slicer, grain shift, short delay etc probably gets me closer to what i want although it requires a little more effort. But hey, what other hobbies do i have?

    True.

From the feedback, sounds like it's not doing anything all that special, but that it does one thing fairly well and fairly easily with minimal fuss. Might leave it on the shelf awhile. Thanks.

My kind of crazy beatmaker app. Bought it, of course I did. I loaded some of my own samples and like what I hear. Glitchy and highly unpredictable things are going on. Definitely not everyone's cuppa tea but I'm digging LoAdKer a lot. It is weird though and not only in terms of the sounds it's rolling out; tempo is supposed to be adjustable between 40 - 240 bpm but when in standalone mode it's kinda fixed to 120 bpm and no matter where I put the tempo slider, it remains 120. There must be a secret here... anyways, I opened up the app in AUM and after I figured out how to wake up Link in LoAdKer I was able to adjust the tempo via AUM - where DSP % was jumping between 50 and 160 (!) %. Is this possible at all? Bug? I mean I hear no clicks and lagging which do appear if DPS % actually goes above 80 %.
All in all: LoAdKer has bugs, many of them, it seemingly eats up your cpu, has an (in my opinion) awkward ui but I still like it.

Update: figured out how to adjust the bpm.
