ChordFlow 1.1.0 beta available!

ChordFlow version 1.1.0 is now available for beta testing through the TestFlight. New testers are welcome!

What is new in this version:

PER-TRACK MIDI ROUTING
You can now configure independent sound, MIDI destination and channel for each track(color). Open Settings>MIDI Output Settings. Select track(color), configure internal synth sound, MIDI destination and channel for the track.

SECTION DUPLICATION
You can now duplicate a section. When you are in the section list view, tap on the edit button, tap on the red minus button for the section you want to duplicate, then tap 'duplicate'. The copy of the section will be added to the end of the list.

BUG FIXES

  • App doesn't handle Ableton Link session tempo changes when it is in stopped mode.
  • MIDI destination list is not always updated.

OTHER IMPROVEMENTS

  • Added slider to the tempo selection popup
  • Improved consistency of base notes for different chord types
  • Midi destination/channel settings are now saved.
  • Tempo is now saved

Best wishes,
Dmitry

  • @ChordUp The midi routing is, of course, huge, but the duplicate thing is a very big deal for this app as well (for me at least...) Good stuff.

  • Here is a demo of the new per-track midi routing feature:

  • Excellent! How soon is the release?

  • Yes duplicate!

  • @ChordUp stellar job on this update. absolutely love the sequences this can create once you feed it a nice chord progression  the multi out midi just made the app a must have for breaking writers block.

  • Working with the beta now. Really awesome!

I believe it will be released in a few days, if no major issues is found during the beta testing.

  • I'd be very happy to beta test this app. Already on testflight. Already own your other apps also.

Tell me your email, I will add you to the testers group.

  • The update is out.
    Very cool thanks.

Only thing I'd like to see added now is Audiobus support so I can get it to start at same time as other Apps

    Brilliant update

As for feature requests personally i'd love to be able to delete all colours at once, something like double tapping the eraser to do it, and a copy/paste/move feature would be fantastic

Such a brilliant and innovative app

  • Excellent update, thanks.

  • Holy shit. Was talking elsewhere about iSymphonic and composing etc and this update is HUGE but mostly because it makes it so immediate and easy to get the midi madness working. Just pick your color and choose the instrument you want, add the next etc and you're off. Really foolproof (self). And bang, a lovely Module piano and some orchestral cellos playing nice with each other in 5 seconds....

@ChordUp Adjust the title maybe now this great update is actually out?

Hi! Delete all, and track moving are already in my TODO list. Could you explain, how do you see the copy/past feature? Copy the whole track(color) and paste it to another track(color)? Or something else?

  • @ChordUp

    Very cool app indeed!

  • @ChordUp

Maybe I'm missing something but it seems like the App doesn't work properly/as I expected
    If I put this in

And set each section to one chord C G Am F
    I would have expected to get C E G C G B D G A C E A F A C F
But what I do get is

    CGCCGDGGAEAAFCFF.

  • relatedly, note labels or a keyboard would be useful...

I think this was the USP for me originally - the ease of use in setting up a quick chord sequence, and nice to see the ease of use has been retained for the MIDI channels.

This is how it should be done.

Yea, exactly. Would be cool to be able to copy one color to the other and then shift it up or down. Not a big deal since the workflow is already so fluid, just something i thought of when i was doing some chord patterns where several of the colour patterns where identical except for the pitch

Delete all and track moving sounds fantastic

This has been my new favourite app since you released it and it just keeps getting better so thank you!

  • @ChordUp I love this app and use it frequently; update is excellent. Two requests:

    1. Swing or groove (or AB3 support so I can use an AB3 MIDI filter for the same)

    2. Manual mode that would allow me to switch sections manually rather than having them automatically switch after a certain number of bars. The dream would be to be able to switch sections via a MIDI CC so I could use a hardware controller but I realize that may be out of scope for your vision for the app. But it would be super helpful for those of us who play live...

  • does this come with a good selection of chords?

Do you mean preset chord patterns? If so, no. It's all about drawing your own which is very easy and fun. As a non-pianist, i've come up with many new patterns i never would have in a normal midi sequencer

Not to mention you can do bass lines, arps etc. as well

  • @ChordUp would be nice to have an octave transpose button for the bass. I was sending baseline to a few apps and wishing it could go an octave lower (not all synth apps.have a transpose down )

There are many ways to do things like this but this is one of the best ways.

@ChordUp Would love an undo button :)

I'd also like to bring the rate down to 1/2 and maybe 1/1 also if possible.

Added track copying to my TODO list. Thanks for the suggestion!
