If a varied, yet integrated orchestral suite is your thing, buy as much as you can. IAP sales are rare. That said, I have completed the suite entirely during sales

The other best (and free!) approach is bs-16i and soundfonts. A very defendable approach.

I don't know about the IAPs but last night I piped Steps > iSymphonic Trombone > AUM > ZMH 1 > GliderVerb.

    Holy mackerel.

  • Perfectly iPhone SE latest

I seem to remember them being mostly 11/12/13 bucks a pop. Maybe a couple of them were in the 8/9 range.

Wow. So $9 entry point into the app right now & just under $200 for 10GB+ of IAP content...that is more VST/desktop realm pricing & size but for everything you get & the quality that the sounds possess it's actually quite reasonable.

There's a lot of redundancies with minor changes to sounds found in the main app & other packs (i.e. sounds marked Tremelo Strings 3, Orchestra 4 etc,) but some of the packs have some sounds that are unique to the IAP packs like choirs, the harpsichord and other individual solo instruments. Those are the packs that are very attractive...

I purchased the app this weekend. I love the sounds. The Sordino strings are amazing and worth the price of the app alone!

Next, I am going to purchase Ottone: $8.99 on sale. This will give me some nice brass instruments.

Thanks for that @Korakios. Stand alone it worked fine. Likely just start up bug.
Otherwise, the programs are spot on. This is a quality app.
Anybody bought the Voce IAP? I'm a sucker for those vocal programs.

Just spoke with the dev . I guess I am unlucky, they can't reproduce it and as I see here in the forum I may be the only one with the problem (Air2 iOS 10.3.2)
It happens inside Gragaband, modstep , AUM when playing 2 AU instances of iSymphonic or more at the same time , especially holding 3 or more notes for few seconds...
Resetting/ reinstalling didn't help , I am actually thinking of getting no refund since it is usable as IAA and it sounds great ...

  • Same issue on iPhone 5s :(

  • @Korakios I got those same glitches but only with certain patches though mainly the Cello woodwind patch. One thing I was doing was controlling it with Fugue Machine. I had 2 instances of it in AUM. I went in a changed it to only listen to the specific channel I want and it seem to clear up.

I was also getting some audio glitches with the brass patches, almost like peaking, popping broken speaker sounds, while using it in stand alone or as an AU. I set the peak limiter that is built into AUM and it seem to clear that up as well.

  • @marcuspresident let the developers know about it . They are very responsive, but said there are very few users with that bug and can't reproduce it.
Will you keep it? I am thinking using it inside AB or IAA ,since you can layer ( on single stereo output unfortunately ) up to 16 different sounds in different midi channels...
( and wait for a fix if ever, or even reformatting the iPad after iOS 10.3 major update )

On the Strings and Trumpet preset of otone are we able to split the sounds to get only trumpet?
