I don't think that you can split any of the sounds, although some of the packs have instruments split by range on the keyboard (high and low). That being said, the Strings and Trumpet preset of Otone is mostly trumpet and hardly any strings. If strings are there, they are very subtle.
By the way, I made a change in my purchasing strategy. I skipped buying Vento because I have Thumbjam, and in my opinion, the solo woodwinds in that app are superior to the ones in iSymphony (and they can be downloaded for free when you buy the app). I decided to go with Aulos because it had some nice flute ensembles, as well as a nice combo called "Classic Orchestra." I also picked up Boato for the "Epic Drums" patch and "Expressive Orchestra 1." I'm very pleased with both of those purchases.
My final decision is to choose between "Canto" (love the Choir Uuh2) and "Tosca" (Symphonic Percussion intrigues me, but I wish there was a list of the instruments in that patch). Alternatively, I may grab Altispace Convolution Reverb for $6.99. The reviews of that app are very positive, and I'm not very excited with the reverb in iSymphony.
Does anyone want to weigh in on my next steps?

I'm not in love with the choir sounds/Canto pack; I actually prefer the choris in BeatHawk, which to me, are a higher quality. Keep in mind I have old ears.
Altispace has been a long time fav of mine and I highly recommend it.
(Edited)
I got Choir on BH also and AltiSpace is a no brainer!
I did update the iPad tonight and haven't tried after that.
One more strange thing in AB when I chosed Fugue playhead 3 after 1 and 2 and was about to make an new instance in midi out for that it wasn't possible. The text "New instance" was then grayed. So I had to make a new "strip"/" channel" (I don't know the name of it in AB) for the Fugue playhead then I could make an instance for isymphony.
was about to buy until i saw the size... 1.37Gb....dang!... to big for my phone
So my interest in this is heavily influenced by its ability to be used in multiple instances-- are people still finding they max out at 3 or 4 active AU instances of iSymphonic before crashes and glitches come along? I would be using it mainly in GB (on my phone) or MTS (on my iPad).
2 or more AU instances and glitches come . But only me and @marcuspresident have reported this issue on the forum.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)

You can try it and get refund if it goes wrong
there is your problem grageband it doesnt support higher sample rates. Check your sample rates. Garageband though awesome app is not Cubasis 2 or Auria Pro
AltiSpace is worth the full price,
but it is on sale for 3.99 right now.
Thanks for the heads up about AltiSpace. Just purchased it. Now, how do I use it with iSymphonic? I have Cubasis.
Guys I'm just now getting the same crackling audio. Don't wanna get a refund cause I really love this app any ideas???
See sample at 18 sends in:
ISymphonic Crackling Audio at USA by MusicMan4Christ on #SoundCloud
Refund or wait for a fix . I got an email saying they found a bug ,that might also affect those glitches.
I strongly beleive that many people just launch iSymphonic as AU and say it's working, but the real problem is having 2 loaded with different presets playing at the same time.
Yeah that's what I noticed too. Maybe I hadn't noticed the audio glitches cause I was using one instance. But I missed out on the BeatHawk Strings sale for this one. I guess I'll keep it as I know they back their apps really well. We'll see cause I know apple gives us what 90 days? But for now I'll give them a chance. I'm not going to invest on more sound packs till it gets fixed though. Bummer cause I had my eyes on some.
@Shazamm you might wanna give them my audio sample it clearly shows the audio glitch and this was on two instances inside AUM.
90 days? No way, it's 14 days
I got the basic version since the sale price was modest, but I found it glitches up in GB (iPhone 6+) if I have more than two instances. To create a moderately convincing orchestral environment I need more instances than that. Maybe the hardware just can't handle this kind of load yet. Anyway, I'm not investing in soundpacks right now for this reason.
I got burned on the Colossus piano....so not trying this at all.
It's not about CPU load. As a workaround you can launch the app as IAA and load multiple instruments in different midi channels ( but one stereo output)
NEW UPDATE NO MORE GLITCHES![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
for real???
