Bought.......... Fantastic Mr @brambos.......... Now playing along with TrobleMaker, I'm getting the sounds like "Ye Ole" Detroit Techno House of old........ Just after the Acid House scene of the 90's......... Like "Model 500" era....... ;)

Model 500? Detroit-ish sounds? Sold! Well done.
Had an eye on it since the announcement anyway because Troublemaker is just so good.

  • Wow

    So amazing!

I have so many synths but I lacked a modular that fit the style and sound I desired, this app does it.

Paired with TroubleMaker sounds fucking so 1999!

    Hell YeaH!

    Who needs a 512Gb iPad? :D

Well, if you are offering? :)

  • Congrats @brambos

Would be rude not to indulge, especially at such a reasonable price.

Is anyone else unable to Write a Review? The text isn't there for me on ANY app, not just brambos.

  • Does anyone want to buy a bunch of apps I'll never use because of this one? Last chance then they're going on Ebay!

What an awesome synth @brambos ! Nicely done!!

  • Another banging synth. All hail brambos.

  • so i already threw my money at Brambos even though i know nothing about modular synthesis, so who is going to start the tutorial class here ?? anyone ??

if i were to focus on 2 outputs and 2 inputs wich ones should i start exploring to make some fun with this crazy wonderful little maschine ??

    Haha duh, that part's done

I intend to make a "getting started with Ripplemaker" tutorial video when I've gone through all the initial launch activities.

In the meantime there's probably already some helpful pointers and examples in the user manual.

I'm unable to write a review that doesn't include 5 stars.

So I did try and fail earlier. It's an instant classic.

I had silly fun with this and Troublemaker plus DM1 (usually Patterning but I needed a change) earlier. It's in "Was that my train stop?" territory.

  • Absolutely! Good stuff!

  • Looks and sounds all amazing. One question though, how well does this run on an iPhone 5S, anybody checked that out?

  • Thanks to AppShopper, saw that Troublemaker was updated and saw Ripplemaker in the app list. Only 12CAD? Instabuy.
Sure, been talking about having too many synths, etc. But this is from a developer we trust, who focuses on supporting the important standards like AB and AU, and who has led up to the launch in the proper manner, so it’s easy to know what to expect. The app will surely fit my use case and won’t go in the app attic.

Apart from the screen being a bit small, CPU load should be comparable to Troublemaker. Not sure if that's a helpful answer ;)

  • Neat onboarding experience!
Opening the sequencer on launch is a great idea. That way, you get to hear something from the start and can experiment with the mutations.
Then, though it’s pretty crowded on an iPhone, switching between preset patches gives you a good idea of how things work. Hadn’t necessarily thought of the learning dimension, but it’s pretty obvious in retrospect.

In fact, this app comes at just the right time for me. Been attending the “Switched On Synths Fest”, here in Ottawa. Got to twiddle some knobs and observe expert synthesists practicing their craft. My knowledge of analog synthesis is still rather limited so it’s quite useful to understand the details of these patches, before making my own.
Not sure it accepts MIDI CC, but it’s already useful as a way to get into analog synthesis. Could give Synthtorial some ideas...

  • Wow - this made my morning/day. Lost 20 minutes just exploring. Great sounds and wonderful implementation from what I can see.

    And such a small footprint!

    Horse's mouth etc. Very welcome.

  • What I love about Ripplemaker. Use it in AB3 to seed arpeggiation which drives n# instances of AU synths...insert Midi randomize and assign AU FX on a per synth channel in audio view and record into Cubasis.

    BOOM!

    Thx! Bought :)

  • @brambos
You knocked another one out of the park. Many thanks and thanks also for the users manual, it's a very well done entry into the modular wonderworld, as is the synth itself (very thoughtful to include the blue bracketed text for each of the "normalized connections")

  • You know an app's good when you can just go willy-nilly and get something usable before reading the manual and truly paying attention to the words and labels on the screen.

  • Like Troublemaker, I was able to buy and install on my iPad 3. Unfortunately neither can be used since the upper half of the GUI is missing. Not complaining just letting other older device users know.

This will not matter to me as I will soon get the new 10.5 Pro.

Oh wow! Really enjoying the manual! Right tone, right pace, right kind of information. Good job!
Somewhat surprised that it’s not embedded in the app, somehow. But it’s nice to know it’s available.

Yeah, this is a bit of a pain for me as well. Apple decided to only allow a subset of the iOS9 devices to use the Audio Unit Extension system (iPad 2 and 3 don't). Unfortunately they don't give me any tools to exclude those unsupported devices in the Appstore.

All I can do as a dev is put a clear warning right at the top of the app description and hope people will read it...(I actually considered limiting Ripplemaker to iOS 10 for this reason, because it was leading to a considerable number of 1-star reviews in the Appstore of people who did not read it).

But I figured that would exclude too many users, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed people will read the app description... :#

  • I call myself reading descriptions but I must have missed it. But no problem here. I still have half a dozen other apps I bought on my PC (on sale) that cant be installed until I upgrade my iDevice.

  • I had been ignoring all the pre-release threads about this app - because I saw modular synth and thought "I don't need that". But having watching 2 videos now I think I'll have to get this. The sound is super sweet and the price is right. And @brambos is one of those great developers worth supporting.

  • Looks great and I'm definitely getting this at some point (probably later) and have been playing with Troublemaker in AB3, thanks for the update @brambos :)

When you get to do any more upgrades do you plan to have the ability to chain patterns?
eg 16 patterns with repeats etc, you know the drill ;)

I like the Egoist song mode, would work well in Ripplemaker with patterns, parts etc.
