Thanks for the info guys, certainly looks like it would do what I want from that point of view.....
As an iOS user it may seem strange but I really don't like using the glass and need to be able to use physical buttons/knobs/faders/keys
Just need that MIDI In (and preferably controller feedback for RGB pad/led lighting on my Launch hardware)....
I would look to setup groups as described, and then assign each group button to a pad on the LaunchControlXL with 3 rotaries and a fader available for elements of that Group, and then have Launchpad assigned to individual loops or samples for when I want to go 'off-piste'...this would give me up to 16 scenes/phases of a track (16 pads on a LaunchControlXL) or 8 phases + one button for element control on top of the rotaries and fader.
And of course I would use MIDI In for recording from my keys and drum pads in the first place....
One more thing...MIDI Clock out ?
And the new Chord Spread option is a really nice touch!. It would be nice though if you could adjust the velocity curve for midi channels like using the Velocity-Gain control on internal sounds so it doesn't get too quiet on the lower part of the pads.
Thanks for the awesome work @Alex fox! Can't wait to try all of this and build a surface to control my external gear.
I have a few basic requests that would probably make things much easier
Midi in (simple implementation for note recording)
Sequencer:
-Option: Lock clip length during recording (I like the auto expand/duplicate, but most of the times I just want to overdub)
-Cut/Copy/Paste
-Undo (last recording or edit change)
Awesome. Feature requests noted
Strange thing is... the ONLY thing that changed before it just started working, was that I tried to play the videos in Portrait mode instead of Landscape, and it started working fine in both Portrait/Landscape mode.
Just updated my App Store review! Great Job Alex! Amazing work!
Thanks DUDE!
Hmmm recording clips now actually seems to start on first beat
Just had a go at using KRFT to control Gadget, after being inspired by Jakobs video, and once I'd figured out how to get Gadget to pick up each channel it worked really well, and I even added a few MIDI CC buttons to control the Gadget synth knobs. Only thing I did note, KRFT seemed to temporarily freeze up a couple of times when switching between it and Gadget, maybe that's a resource thing.
I don't know ........thought great I'll finally buy this with the 33% perecent off - then realise that they have just hiked the price up again to £15 so it's no cheaper . Bit naughty that , just in my personal opinion.
@Alex fox The wonderfully weird thing here is that I have become very appreciative of the way you can develop the sounds that come with the app (let alone being able to control others externally). I know I'm the 50th person to ask it/repeat the request, but I would really, really like to be able to save my altered preset sounds.
Well, we've added a substantial feature - MIDI Output. It breaks out of its walled garden and turns it into a serious piece of kit, hence the price increase. We wanted to offer a launch discount to give people a chance who have been following it closely to jump on board before we put the price up.
Yes - top of the list now !
Seems like a fair increase considering all the extra advancements in the app. And, they're giving folks a little "heads up" to get the app before the price goes up.
This is still a massive value.
Worth every shekel!!!!
Totally loving this app and all the awesome Surfaces created by all the gifted and talented AB musicians! Thanks all for sharing!
So now I have a reason to get all the AB3 midi filters.
Nope, recording is off, or maybe i just want it to be different, when it says "play when ready" i really want the first note to be when i press it and it should be at 0.0.0, okey if iam overdubbing that wont work but for a new recording thats the way i think it should be, but more often than not when i start playing after pressing record and feeling the vibe, my clips are empty in the beggining and starts in the middle or something, am i doing something wrong ?
This is how I do it:

Not sure if there's anything there you are missing?
Thats exactly what i do, But after pressing stop mine looks like
First note is way off
But the other notes are fine?! If you could do a video I might be able to see where you (or the app!) is going wrong!
I cant video it yet (ios11 yeah) but everything is as i played it, but the sequence start at 0.4.0 istead of 0.0.0 my first key press is not where it starts to record, are you with me ? Or do i have to me exctly in line with the metronome ?
Agree. I also try to look at the amount of value relative to prices outside of iOS apps, as well. Prices for Mac/PC software and hardware are much higher.
So your "zero" is the pink line I've marked in the image:

Crap i suck at explaining, but no the first note which is in the 4 square ( maybe it should be 0.0.4) that note should be start position ie 0.0.0 (the first square) because recording starts when i start to play (?)
Hey guys --- I posted in the subreddit WeAreTheMusicMakers.
If you'd like to support the app and spread the word - it would be great to get an upvote and even better a comment

thanks!
Yes. I like a sweet deal as much as anyone (maybe more so)
But, I don't mind paying when the value is there. Some apps come, a bunch a promises are made by the devs, life get's in the way or they don't make as much as profit as they'd hoped, and the app is abandoned. For those I'd rather not have spent much obviously.
Other apps are kind of redundant with other apps with only a minor twist. For those, I'd likely wait for a sale and see if maybe they evolve into something more interesting, etc.
But, for the apps that are unique... fill a gap in the iOS sound world like no other... and the KRFT devs are constantly improving the app, as well as adding great new features and are always on the ball with support, etc. I don't mind paying a fair rate for that at all. KRFT fits this description precisely.
Compared to other apps out there, with the features and constant advancement... KRFT is easily a bargain even at the $20 pricing tier if we're comparing value vs cost.
In a way, this is exactly how it should go. I made a small investment in KRFT when it first released (less than $5), even though it didn't do what I needed it to. But I thought there was enough promise in the experience that I decided the investment was worth the risk. Once I saw the dev's attentiveness and approach, I knew that I had invested wisely! There have been other investments that haven't panned out and that's ok to me too... There are other hobbies/artistic ventures that cost way more in the big picture (any golfers out there?). And if the risk/investment side of iOS app development isn't for you, I totally understand it.

@Alex fox Fair enough , I'll get in quick now before the price goes up again !
