  • I like the concept, the interface isn't my favorite but I can live with that. What puts me off completely is the terrible timing even with only few clips driving few lightweight AUs.

  • The AB3 midi thing is huge for me (Im holding off on Xequencer for this reason) but the last time I built a AB3/AUM/KRFT setup I was annoyed that AB3 state saving didnt launch the correct KRFT setup. Has this been fixed? Can AB3 launch direct to the desired KRFT workspace?

I’ve got it but I’ve yet to make it make a single sound or do anything other than eventually make a diamond shape on the screen from which a small circle can move out of and then disappear. Presumably it does more than that?

You're way ahead of me, bro. I haven't even opened it yet.

  • @u0421793 I thought you'd be one to like KRFT. It's visually abstract, but with very logical underpinnings— like an alien language. At least in KRFT, unlike Modstep, you can label everything how you like it.

I do wish that the devs could have figured out a way to instantly create surfaces with pre-programmed clusters of cells. One big "Make Surface" button. That way all the bros can instantly play around, helping to make the app financially viable and insuring future updates for those few who are willing to build from scratch.

The network does include prebuilt surfaces to download and reverse engineer or retrofit, an excellent resource for pre-built stuff...

I think that KRFT is outstanding. I’m more inclined to use the onboard instruments, kits, and looping because my device was overtaxed when using it as an AB3 midi controller to sequence freestanding instruments and feed audio into a recorder/DAW.

My only big picture request (ongoing since beta testing the app) is for stem export (audio and midi too) for recorded performances.

    Love this feature.

Wow - I read this forum every day, reading about complex setups wherein multiple iPads are linked to each and then controlled in turn with some hardware gizmo, the somewhat quirky ins and outs of Beatmaker3, and so on, as well as mile long picky obscure feature requests.

And then I read about how KRFT is somehow “too difficult” to get a sound out of. I’m stunned - this app is incredibly easy to use. If you can’t get anything going in it, then you’re simply not trying. At all.

As they used to say - RTFM!

In my defense, I haven't even opened it yet. That will probably be my first step.

Well, that’s a start. It just breaks my heart (l’m a sentimental type) that people don’t investigate this app more. Maybe the interface is just too different and people get sort of intimidated or something. Trust me - it’s easy.

To get motivated I need a project that requires a custom control surface. I can't really think of one right now.

Is there one? I’d read it.

    Excellent thanks

  • Any chance of the manual in PDF format?
