This. I made an early investment in the app even though it was quite limited and didn't do what I needed it to. But I thought it had potential and the devs seemed earnest and responsive. That $3 investment obviously worked out well for me. But I can show you 10 other investments that have gone nowhere... I still prefer this model to paying $99 for laptop software or IAPs.
You troublemaker.
Stop making waves. Ripples from such things affect us all.
I bought this at 10$ and I'm pretty happy with it. And the future features interest me. So I'm not sure why people are complaining about it. Don't want it don't buy it. No one is forcing you. Besides. If another app comes around that is much better or does similar features I'm sure Krft will drop in price again.
Are we talking about a credit card interest rate or a freaking app?
Case and point, they fucking developer work round the clock making apps.
They pay themselves for what they have done and on what they need to do. I don't know anyone else who works and hopes to get paid?
IF the app isn't worth it, well it won't sell.
Informed customers and market forces are not emotional at all really.
There is no deception if the price is announced and then given a heads up on a price change.
WTF?
Ludicrous ain't it ? All my years of buying apps haven't even made a dent in how much I've spent on vsts and daws over the years on my PC. iOS pricing has made people expect a little too much for their dollar I think. And I say that living in a Freaking third world country! I basically actually spent 11.1€. And you don't see me complain![:/ :/](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/confused.png)
Let's cool the conversation down guys, it's a discussion. It has two sides, and neither one of them is related to anger. We'll have a more insightful chat if we discuss without the outrage.
You've been reasonable in the discussion, @OscarSouth. To others who have used harsher tone, I think my question would be: instead of posting a complaint here, why not go to the devs directly and express concern?
edit: this was a continuation of my previous post. Luke snuck one in there!
For the record, I watched through all of Jacob Haq's KRFT videos (even the 86mins one) today (running in the background while I work) to decide whether it was worth picking I up while it's still at fake sale price. Cool looking app, but not useful enough for my work to bite.
BUT....BUT......oh, yeah, yer right.....
I'd hate to be a responsive iOS dev active on the forums with a less than iron-clad skin, the feedback would just kill me. These guys are onto a hiding to nothing whatever they do.
Well, I was actually thinking of the same thing. I think KRFT and Groovebox are the apps that basically can do this for me. I'm still trying to figure out my creative workflow with these two apps. For sure I know I love KRFT for the ability to create groups and fills and transitions between groups. This is to me so awesome!![:( :(](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/frowning.png)
Now, if only I already had preset surfaces made with patterns like those in Groovebox then it would all fall into place for me. I just love how Groovebox does get me into the creative groove. And I love how KRFT gets me into the song creative groove. It's like somehow both these apps belong with each other, but Groovebox doesn't export midi and KRFT doesn't import midi.
So if only I could import created midi patterns into KRFT then KRFT would basically become Groovebox 's song mode and beyond.
Let's see what happens all I know these are exciting times!
Indeed too much hassle. But if you state: "KRFT discount ends in 3 days!" You get the impression you get a discount, while in fact the price will just go up in three days. In my eyes you should just let people know you can buy > @OscarSouth said:
Agree, I just started the whole thing about the suggested sale price that isn't a sale price and moved on with in my eyes totally reasonable questions raised about price strategies. So this is just discussing pricing strategies and personal preferences of special introduction prices and iap.
Agreed
I think the answer is KRFT as an AU host.. even hosting 'mini' AU KRFTs individual surfaces like drum surfaces (Like the Drumma demo surface) etc.. just drop them onto the KRFT host .... my two cents..
I don't know why people are getting angry about my criticism which I think is perfectly justified. It's not a huge deal either but I can see how some fans can get defensive when someone criticizes their favourite dev. I wasn't trying to be particularly harsh either, it just doesn't seem right and honest to me and I simply dislike that kind of salesman wording, which I find to be deceptive. I think there's something to be learned in this...
I'm finished here so let's just move on.
There have certainly been lawsuits in the USA about saying your offering a Discount when the price has never been higher. It is legally not a discount. The word Sale is a bit more nebulous but generally the same meaning. It's easy and thoughtful to just use some more appropriate verbiage.
I don't think it's a big deal and I picked up the app due to so many people being so enthusiastic! Haven't had a chance to dig in but am looking forward to exploring this until about the middle of July, at least.
Sorry for mentioning it! Simply just thought if anyone was on the fence then they'd get a chance to get the app before we put the price up.
We put our heart and soul into this. We're both full time on the app and the current sales don't even cover our wages (and I'm talking minimum wage).
The price has gone up so much because we started very low. We've added so many features so far, 4 months of man hours x2, and we believe we've added a lot of value in that time.
If it's not for you then that's fine, I hope that one day we can change your mind.
This will probably get slated as "marketing BS" but for anyone interested check out some fun we had with a 303 & KRFT today =>
Just to make sure you didn't get the wrong impression from my posts, and while it's not something that fits in my toolbox, KRFT looks great and I've been very tempted to grab it just for fun. I reckon that it's worth your upcoming price adjustment.
I've recommended a few friends check out KRFT, just based on the user feedback I see for it. However, the thread starter was getting mobbed here! I felt that a reasonable voice playing devils advocate in a broad context was necessary here![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
That's some excellent stuff
looking forward to future updates. And hopefully my feature request ![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Thanks for the clarification and the recommending! I hope it's gone down well !
I certainly don't equate a small iOS developer with massive corporations trying to mislead customers for profit. In fact, all I've gathered from this forum is StudioAmplify's dedication to innovation and customer satisfaction.
I guess I consider myself smart enough not to be "outsmarted" by a sale...............lulz
Well I feel I have to explain one last time what caused my negative response in the first place. I had been following discussions on the app and watching all the great videos about it and was thinking it might be quite fun but not sure if I would be really using it. So I decided I'd wait for a discount some day. Then I actually got emailed by the dev who was announcing a 33% sale so I got excited. Checking the App Store I found the price hadn't changed but was only being announced as a great bargain now before it would go up. It's just plain annoying to be treated like that and it is marketing, so I'm sorry but you lost me as a potential customer, @Alex fox
Must just be part of being a dev on iOS. Your hard work, and wanting to get paid a little for it, is worth nothing to some people. Do what you gotta do. Can't please all the people all the time.
Imagine those of us who paid $30 or more for an app and then the seller goes on a sale for $9.99 kind of the reverse feeling i think. But no matter what, to me i look at it this way, if I love the investment I've made, i am happy even if the developer decides to give it for free in the future.
But please the last thing we want is to bash one of the most responsive and hard working developer teams I've seen in a very long time. I'm going to have to splash some virtual holy water on all you who think otherwise, cause this hard work put on by this team deserves reward.
If the higher price doesn't suit you, please do move on. If you rather wait for a sale at a lower price someday, please do move on. But do not bash this great guys! IMHO.
KRFT is still a bargain at $15 dollars anyway.
15 dollars for a quality product with tons of reusability. Maybe skip chipotle for dinner?
Kvetching quibblers untie!
We got fake tans, fake boobs, fake news .. and now fake app sales![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
It's not fake. We always planned to put the price up when we added MIDI. We just discounted it for two weeks on release.
