The only thing i also own is the cat (and i mean not the synth). But it´s worth the most maybe in this house.
Everything else is cold metal ;)

Nobody owns a cat, the cat owns you. ;)

That's right. I am pestered by 8 slave owners in my house... and I obey out of respect for their intelligence

Luckily, I'm not remotely interested in competing with this guy. Have seen some of his videos but, like others, I couldn't tell you the name of a single 'hit' belonging to him, or hum a melody even. Could be more to do with my memory though..

I doubt most of the people at his shows could tell you the name of a 'hit' either. Not sure it even works that way in this world. It is a big old dance party.

Good point. Did try and listen to some on youtube. Nice enough but only made it to 4.5 minutes of a 2 hour remix! Phew, glad it's not my world.

  • I think I might just barely qualify as old (age starts with a 4), but I had heard of this guy via a track I stumbled on (and enjoyed) with Pandora years ago. Had no idea he was so big, much less there was a video to go with the track:

It's a funny coincidence he just became a topic here, because I stumbled on this video just yesterday while watching the BM3 count down videos. Also had no idea he was a 'tech' guy. He comes off as a little rough around the edges, but what I appreciate is that he doesn't seem fake at all.

The irony of that video for me is that the Pandora station I was listening to those years ago was a dubstep one, heh

The thing that jumps out is that he has focused on connecting to his audience. That beyond just focusing on his music, that the live moment of connenction between audience and performer seems to be paramount for him.

I can see how hiding behind a giant mouse head would facilitate a connection with someone. I might go try that at the bar Friday.

    Nicely done!

I was referring to audiences, not some fellow at the bar -
Any one who can sell out that many shows obviously is connecting to his audience

  • Oh, I agree with you, but I also really enjoyed asnor's sardonic take; the delivery was perfection.

... but I can respect the hard work put in to earn his house and "toys".

You obviously have no idea what hard work is. ;)

From what I've seen and heard this guy also puts a lot of hard work into his work. And he's talented at entertaining massive amounts of people, so I say good for him. He's certainly deserved it more than a lot of uber-rich 'socialites' who get rich off just existing and wasting precious oxigen.

It means: hello! Reality check! Anybody home?

What makes you think I need a reality check?

    Never mind. Please continue.

Sandals and Socks are the new cool. I hear Lederhosen is making a comeback too.
