  • Hats off @Sebastian for not enforcing a cull ... I think ...

  • yeah really happy to see the forum can go where it may, that's extremely generous from the admin, thanks.

  • I'd say Intua owe Audiobus a big favour for hosting this stuff. For non-BM3 users like me it's getting a bit disctracting.

    Resistance is futile ;)

  • But is it AB3 compatible?

BM3 has taken over my IPad as of late but it is a good thing. It really is some kind of economic wonder! I just knew somehow that I would get MUCH more than twenty dollars worth of fun with this app, and I already have of course. Plus, the sampler is so easy and good I find I will not need to spend anything on IAP's.

  • Indeed it has taken over the forum and is driving the naysayers absolutely batty! :D

  • Still happening !

  • Ok ...enough is enough surely. It's an app and it's not as if this is the ultimate purchase for every iOS music addict. Bah...humbug ... but why is Audiobus allowing its forum to be hijacked unless there is money involved!!!!. Bad taste now.

    Agreed.

I am sure intua would allow other company's info to be so huge on its forum...........................right?

I dont know where I should write my pointless commentary, so i'll put it here B)

after playing with BM3, it hasn't blew me away particularly, like it's great and all but I personally prefer things that are a bit quirky, and also I actually like using various apps and chain them together, instead of having one massive DAW, keeps things separated neatly, and allows for more happy accidents. I think that's why I'm migrating over from OS & Ableton in the first place. Again, strictly a matter of taste & workflow. Like, personally I'm more into trying out new interfaces that make me think differently about structuring, control, and mixing (Apesoft, Borderlands), than looking for the perfect iOS DAW, but I can totally see how that's valuable for many. And most likely I will pick up BM3 as an exemplary app when I teach mobile music making.

I disagree. Audiobus is an umbrella app. It makes no sound by itself and relies on being filled with other apps. Basically audiobus would make no sense without other apps. BM3 on the other hand is an audiobus enabled app therefore has every right to be discussed here (unlike some Retronyms unmentionables).

It is up to us to look whether there's already something on the topic before starting a new thread and/or up to forum moderators to remind us of some ground (often unwritten) rules.

  • Agree with @supadom. I use AB with BM3 so it's fair game. The proliferation of threads is not cool.

It is all about perspective. While the proliferation of threads may not seem cool to some ,for the developers of BM3 it is very welcome. Just as the day of the Titanic sinking was a great day if you were a lobster on board meant to be someone's dinner later on.

Every major new app release create waves that bring traffic and any web admin knows that traffic is a good thing.

    Is this thread audiobus compatible?

Lobster analogy duly filed away for later use. B)

  • Hectic hyper frenzy, I'm living life in the slow lane, enjoying a few moments with 32bit 'oldies' before they take a final bow, unless they get bestowed eight little love bytes and survive the cull.

  • Hey everyone!

Our forums are back, see you there: https://intua.net/forums

    Cheers!
    Mathieu.

  • And about time!!! Seriously, the app is not for me but congrats on a fine update by all accounts.

Thanks god for the dark grey vanilla theme! ;)

Edit: otherwise I'd still think I'm on Audiobus forum!

    Doubleplus this!

  • Mike has taken over moderation of the forum lately. The Beatmaker 3 hype is understandable though, given how much anticipation there was for it.

Audiobus forum lets its users do as they please so to speak. I think thay are impartial because the forum was originally for Audiobus but it turned into the one shop for IOS info period lol. They should be proud the monstrous wave will die down. Audiobus forum will still be standing

you guys are awesome for this forum period

  • @Sebastian and Mike have both shown a lot of tolerance and faith in humanity by largely letting forum users sort out their own differences. It's inspired me to question my own intolerance and examine the choices I make in response to people who don't meet my very subjective/limited expectations.

  • I don't know them personally, but I imagine Sebastian and Mike like the fact that the AudioBus forum has become the de facto iOS Music Production hang/forum.

As @supadom said, AudioBus is unique in that it's very function is to bring apps of different developers & genres together. Frankly, if all that was discussed here was the AudioBus app then outside of updates & new versions there'd be nothing to talk about! That's the beauty of AudioBus, it just works- it's ingenious, very fluid and doesn't have many variables to wax & wane over.

I agree the BeatMaker 3 stuff is a bit overblown but I remember Model 15, Gadget 3 and AudioBus 3 had similar hoopla and repeated threads. However if you're a hardcore iOS musician/app addict this sort of stuff (heavy tech talk, new apps, speculation, bug reporting, bitching and 'told you so's') is enjoyable and more entertaining than the 1000's of other entertainment choices that are flung our way in today's world.
