  • Remember when modstep was released? And AUM? And Cream, and DRC, and Diode, and Patterning, and Fugue Machine, and Phonem, and Rotor (to a lesser extent) and Blocs Wave, etc.

I don't know them personally, but I imagine Sebastian and Mike like the fact that the AudioBus forum has become the de facto iOS Music Production hang/forum.

    Absolutely! Naturally, we're thrilled =)

Mike has taken over moderation of the forum lately. The Beatmaker 3 hype is understandable though, given how much anticipation there was for it.

quite agree @Sebastian , its the most anticipated music app so far.

Forums for specific apps/software are great for reporting bugs and getting advice, but they're not really places to hang out - and say anything less than positive about the app in question and you'll be hoisted by your own petard.

The fact that Audiobus encompasses and brings together many different apps, is reflected in the diversity of this forum.

    Long may it continue.

  • Agree totally .... but the developer of such a popular upgrade could have signposted specific discussions on bugs or rtfm queries etc to a generic forum on his products website -which, to be fair has been done now if somewhat belatedly. Also, this forum could have set up a specific filter channel as it anticipated there would be a huge response, especially motivated by ardent testers etc! Anyhow, all done and dusted now. What's the next one?

Well said and needed to be said , thanks.

@MonzoPro Absolutely. There are some forums that are friendly or at least drama free, like Auria's (but it's traffic is very small) & Steinberg's, etc. but they're not really a place to digitally hang (i.e. visit for 10-20 min looking at a variety of topics/trying to distract self from the miserable blackhole of existence).

The HomeRecording.com forum is okay for general recording but the attraction of the AudioBus forum is the focus on everything iOS/mobile production.

  • For those not interested in BeatMaker, is it too much to scroll past those threads? I don’t see a problem. What’s wrong with people being excited about BM3? And how is it INTUA’s responsibility or fault if the AB forum is a popular place to discuss such things?

Considering the INTUA forum was down, it was even luckier to have the AB forum available — both for useful updates on BM3, and a therapeutic outlet to vent frustrations. :)

  • The Miserable Blackhole Of Existence.

I might search for them on Spotify, they sound like a barrel of laughs.

Currently listening to 4 Non Blondes, my musical church is a broad one ...

Lol, that is a pretty good death metal band name. I worship at the same church, Our Sister of the Forever Expandable Genre. If the music is good then I'm open to listening; the old "there's only good or bad music" axiom.

And who would've thought that Linda Perry would become a nuevo female Don Was/Rick Rubin. She's written songs and worked with so many big acts the last 15-20 years (Pink, Lady Gaga, etc.).

  • You see, threads are like political parties in Italy. Everyone with a strong opinion or an idea of how things should be wants one.

It is a tool of control for people without control who are struggling with organising their own lives, instead create a little virtual space for their own.

I'd say Intua owe Audiobus a big favour for hosting this stuff. For non-BM3 users like me it's getting a bit disctracting.

Yeah, I know what you mean. But at the end of the day I wouldn't feel comfortable censoring anyone wanting to start a thread about a music app.

The storm will pass, then it will be onwards, hurtling toward the next Great App.

Just as the day of the Titanic sinking was a great day if you were a lobster on board meant to be someone's dinner later on.

Really? Would those lobsters not have been trapped in their tanks, then crushed by the enormous pressure as Titanic plummeted. ;)

Probably for the best for her that they quit after the one album and one notable hit. The album is OK actually.

I also have a soft spot for Roxette, the guitar is really well done in that "power pop" sort of thing.

I am a relatively recent Spotify convert, great for discovering stuff, I start djay Pro up and let the matching algorithm take over. For a control freak like me it's liberating to let go of the wheel and go with the flow.
