So I am not on iOS 11 beta. Would full screen AU and AU MIDI allow you to use Animoog and Ripplemaker exactly as they appear in standalone? Or nearly?

AniMoog is not AU compatible. Ripplemaker in AU mode would still be missing it's sequencer.

I’ve heard animoog will get updated this fall with AU.

That's huge! Maybe there are some big changes coming with iOS 11. I remember when Geert wrote this:

One problem with AUX is that you're not supposed to show any controller and can't send MIDI back to the host when you do show a custom controller. So unless your app relies on standard piano keys and associated control signals, there's no way to properly use the app as AUX. We have that specific problem with Animoog, its keys and playing model don't map to a standard keyboard. Unless Apple expands the AUX API to allow something like this, we probably won't work on making Animoog AUX compatible.
