For live performance this app is going to be the bees knees now it has has AU/IAA and AB and external instrument and effects hosting and midi in and out.
That looks really slick.
Oh, now this is interesting... AUv3 hosting, eh?
Going to great for backing tracks. Love this app looks so professional and well put together as a looper.
Great, will redownload and give it another go.
Cool. Is it an Ableton Link app?
I love samplr but most often than not my workflow requires a good sync.
Yes it does
Straight from the horse`s mouth! Awesome.
Thanks a bunch.
What's the best midi foot controller that would work with this? IK Multimedia Blueboard my sort of price and weight as I travel a lot or the Behringer FCB1010 a bit weighty and more expensive than the Blueboard. Will the Behringer give me more flexiability with the app? Any thoughts please.
Both will work. (I personally use both). The advantage of the FCB is more buttons. If you want to use all 4 tracks you'd ideally have 5 or more switches (track 1-4, stop/start, submode, rhythm, fx for instance).
Several customers use 2 blueboards. (This works and a FAQ entry on this will be on the website within days)
fantastic work! this goes now in the direction i was hoping for! excelent. i‘m still messing arround with the workflow though. its kind of complex
Don't scare the children (of which I am one).
@quantiloop best tutorial/get your feet wet method for the slow but willing?
Cheers will look at the Blueboard option
Wow. What an update! Congrats and thank you @quantiloop.
Re tutorials.
We will be doing more tutorials in the coming months. (No promise on a date, but they will come).
For now my advice is:
Basics: How to Use A Looper Pedal by JustinGuitar
This is a very good general beginners tutorial that applies to hardware loopers and QL.
Others:
) but there are quite some good tutorials out there.
Any other tutorial for the Boss / Pigtronics / Boomerang / Ditto loopers. (I hate to point you at the competion
As far as looping goes the workflow is very similar if not the same. (Quantiloop just has more features
)
thank you @quantiloop
it‘s indeed an incredible update! just spent the past few hours on this and i‘m having sooo much fun!! thanks a lot
is this a universal app?
For the overdubs on the tracks, is there an undo if you mess it up the first time? And is that controllable from a foot pedal?
Yes. Undo is there and can be mapped to any controller. By default it would be mapped to the hold action of the respective button.
But you can also map separate UNDO current track or UNDO track 1 etc
iPad only at the moment. iPhone version is under serious consideration (as a Universal implementation)
i'd buy it for iphone instantly
Thanks. Keep watching this place
Must be me. Still can't get anywhere with this app.
Tried Phasemaker loaded into AUM, which shows up in Quantiloop. But a straightforward record button is nowhere to be seen. Trying to get this going, I switch to AUM and fiddle with the drop down keyboard....recording nothing.
I had a go on this at a mates, couldn't work it out - but I only spent 5 minutes with it. Lovely looking thing though.
There can always be bugs but for sure both phase maker and AUM should work with QL.
It was very extensively tested with AUM as an INPUT.
So assuming what you did:
Now all that is needed is tapping one of the track buttons to start stop recording.
If that still doesn't work:for you please send me a screenshot of the AUM setup and QL input dialog to [email protected].
Also do you here the audio at least ?
Ok, I ponied up and I dig it. I spent some time with the tutorial videos before I did so and it helped immensely. I'm still a little lost because some buttons have changed in the update so things don't match the tutes but I'll muddle through... How does dub mode compare to arm mode, for instance?
One of the coolest things for me is the transpose FX. I've always struggled to find good bass options when doing a one man band thing with a looper. What's cool about this one is that I can record the bass part on the guitar with no latency associated with the effect and it transposes down on playback. Mix in a Tonestack bass amp as a second effect and it's as good as I've gotten on iOS.
The only thing I wish I could do is target the effects on two tracks (say, on track 1 and track 2) so that I could play different parts for verse and chorus. Right now, I can only apply the FX on all tracks or a single track, right?
right on the last thing. This will be added in a future update but will only apply to AU. For IAA that is almost impossible as you can only have one instance.
As far as Dub-Mode goes; The manual is updated.
But basically here is the just of it.
1. With dub-mode on, QL behaves as most traditional hardware looper -> Tap while playing switches to Dub.
2. With dub-mode off a single tap while playing stops the track instead.
3. Additionally disabling dub will automatically switch any recording track to play
The user manual has a complete example of this.
(The old arm mode did the same but added the ability to arm tracks for playing, which ended up to be to confusing for most users).
Forgot to mention re fx. Obviously this would also apply to builtin effects like the transpose.
For now what you can do is load the transpose fx in 2 fx slots (e.g. fx1 and fx2). obviously each would be triggered individually.
But again you can expect some enhancements in a future update as well
Yep, got it. Thanks. Lots to like with this app!
Wow! Just got home from work to this awesome update! Thanks @quantiloop ! Can't wait to dig in....
