@quantiloop any plans to make this app universal so we can take it with us on the go. on an iphone too?
No promises on a date, but yes
Focus will be iPhone 6 and bigger though, 5 will work but will be on the small side (which probably applies to many other music apps)
awesome. i have a 7plus. i'm ready
I got a IK Multimedia Blueboard today tried to connect it to Quantiloop Pro under midi in. It saying my iPad offline, with 1 device found even though my Blueboard is on and the Blueboard app is showing connected. Any help appreciated.
It works with Dreamfoot like a dream so I know it's working!
just got the app, but how does the audio trigger for recording work? it doesn't seem to work for me
@Jumpercollins
If you don’t see the BlueBoard in the Bluetooth LE dialog it means you either don’t have the latest firmware or you have to switch it to BTLE mode.
See the FAQ on www.quantiloop.com/support.
Basically it now works in legacy mode (with the blueboard app). Once the firmware is up to date the blueboard app is not required anymore
@erros
To enable audio-trigger for recording.
Go to phrase settings - Auto Record: Enable and set the trigger level (a red bar shows in the inputlevel view to show the trigger level.
Then to record. Tap the button and it will wait for a signal.
NOTE!: If there is a tempo reference (Ie. MIDI CLOCK or Rhythm or Ableton Link) Quantiloop also follows the tempo and starts recording at the beginning of a Bar, so in that case autorecord doesn’t work (as it would be useless)
Hi many thanks for that now sorted, I updated the firmware as soon as it came out the box. It was the LE mode I was missing. Works great now. Do you know if you can use more than 1 board at a time or a separate matter a Bluetooth keyboard or adaptor ?
I still have to get around to updating the FAQ on that!
YES. You can use Upto 2 blueboards at the same time (One in BTLE Mode 1 and one in Mode 2).
(You can also use the 2 expression inputs for either an expression pedal or switch in the blueboard)
I tried all these, and can't get it to work. When i have an iaa iinstrument loaded into the input , and look at the trigger level there
is no red bars indicating level. any ideas?
Basically. Open phrasesetting as in the picture. The red line on top shows the level.
Now to start rec ready mode tap a track button. When a signal is received above the level the actual recording starts.
oh, i get it, I was looking i. the wrong section for the red line. lol. thanks
one other question while i am thinking of it. Can i have Quantiloop do like a four bar count in berries recording the first loop? if so, where do i set that up from? thanks
In rhythm settings set it to auto record with countin
awesome! love this app! it's quickly becoming one of my favorites. I just had a blast playing drums into it, and coming up with some cool breakbeats. that last update was like putting a supercharger in and already fast engine. keep up the great work
Hey, thanks for the app, it seems there is no way to mixdown audio output to another track inside the app. Like for to resample with effects, to buildup complex scapes. Or I wanted to re-record a reversed and transposed voice to free fx slots for other use.I was missing this dearly also in the RC-505 hardware. 4/5 tracks are not enough sometimes. I got it working with Audiobus and MiMix, after some trials. Would be nice to include main/monitor?/individual track? output in the track input options.
@Max_Free Resampling is something on the list for the future. Please send me an email to [email protected].
cool idea for future.? .. ability export each individual tracks as mwav files. I'd love to sketch a song out in looper, and export the track into abelton live, and build a song off that.
@eross Export to wav is available right now. From track setting tap the export icon in the title bar.
awesome! thanks
if i have a synth app in an input slot. and exit quantiloop, and try to start quantiloop from within the synth app. the transport bar won't record or do anything. lots of synths app to the same thing. is there a setting i am missing to activate the transport bar recording?
I think that's a IAA problem in general I seen this problem inside iOS DAWs with a few apps for years now it's frustrating I know especially with looper type of apps.
Good to know. Email sent.
@Jumpercollins, @erros
The transport bar inreed does not work. (You will notice that it does work for Rhythm Plug-ins)
The issue is:
So basically the transport bar was meent for a typical DAW but is not very usefull for a Looper.
I just discovered Quantiloop and have quite a bit of homework to do with various instructional videos, the manual, etc. I get the basics of the app, as it's the most familiar U.I. to me as guitar player.
However, I think as an AU host, the only practical way to record with it is using an external keyboard. I realized after buying it that the app has AU hosting, but not AU MIDI...is this correct. If so, then there probably is no easy way to use the Rozeta app bundle with Quantiloop. I thought maybe I could throw a Rozeta app in an effects slot and trigger it on/off. But that was me confusing AU MIDI with AU Effect apps. Rozeta apps cannot be used as AU Effects, and Quantiloop does not handle AU MIDI anyway to transmit note data from one app to the other.
@quantiloop - Am I missing anything here? Was there ever any thought to including a simple keyboard within the app (particularly on iPhone) that would control the AU instruments?
This is the frequent issue with iOS music, or music software in general. We get accustomed to features present in one app (such as AU MIDI functionality and the internal keyboard in AUM), find a new app (Quantiloop) that offers additional features or a better U.I., then complain that App #2 doesn't also have ALL the features that App #1 and every great app before it has.
I have a feeling that a lot of people already use AUM the way I'm trying to use Quantiloop (as a multi-track/loop recorder that can bounce individual audio tracks). I don't like the workflow of using AUM that way, but I do find it useful/necessary as an AU host, similar to how one might use something like SaviHost on desktop to house a VST instrument and turn it into a standalone app.
AU MIDI is a brand new feature that so far only @brambos has released an app using it. AUM (and within the last week, BM3) are the only hosts yet supporting it. You're way ahead of the curve at this point.
You can host other AU's in Quantiloop, but for now you need to host the Rozeta apps in AUM and route the midi from there to Quantiloop.
I think to get the most use of Quantiloop it really needs to be paired with a foot controller. Getting the timing right with fingers and enough count-in to get the fingers back on the instrument (in my case guitar, but could be keyboard) is a challenge. I am going to put one of those Blueboard or Behringer units on my post-Xmas list because without them it has been an exercise in frustration.
With that said, I did create a MIDI controller on my iPhone in MIDI Designer Pro that I can tap with my bare feet (my big toe). So far it seems to be working flawlessly!
Well get ready because pairing it with a foot controller 'aint easy either! The FCB especially is THE ultimate exercise in frustration . I tried to RTFM but omg I fell asleep! So I'll have to try agin! If I get it working I have offered to make a video for Stephan on how to pair them!!!
Why did you find it so hard? Maybe I can help you...?
Maybe you can Dubbylabby? I am trying to use the Mountain systems PC editor rather than do the Riverdance on the FCB. I have enabled cc and note messages for each preset 1 to 10 and sent it as a sysex message to the FCB Then I hold the down pedal l to save it to the FCB (fecking come on, behringer!!)....still getting error msg on QL “pls tell ur foot controller to send CC or note messages”....Then the developer Stefan has told me to just enable note messages! When I switch the FCB back on it’s stil in program change mode?? I am using a Yamaha BT01 bluetooth midi thingy which quantiloop IS connecting to!
